Fuck, I am fat

How did this happen? I always go back to the the gym when I can no longer fit into 34 inch pants. I really let myself go. I look like a cop or something.

Phoenix 08-29-2014 12:28 AM

I was told by three different girls here in china over the last month that i am fat. Sucks. Need to stick to a diet.

CurrentlySober 08-29-2014 12:31 AM

I thought I had made this thread myself while drunk...

I need a 54 Waist stretch sweat pant - & boy, do I SWEAT!

Bourke 08-29-2014 01:38 AM

your body is built in the kitchen, not in the gym. Body composition is pretty much 70% diet, 30% exercise.

seeandsee 08-29-2014 01:55 AM

You need less burgers

stoka 08-29-2014 01:58 AM

How many kilograms do you weight? And how many centimeters in height?
Are there many fat people in China?

I guess you ate too much. That is how it happens with 100 % of animals, including humans.

No doubt about this! Anyone can go in and push weights around...that's the easy part. The hard part is preparing the proper foods for ample recovery and growth all while keeping body fat at a stable percentage.

American Psycho 08-29-2014 07:45 AM

....and stupid.

hence being fat.

No, that's not the hard part, unless you make it hard. Supplement marketers just make it look like that you have to take tons on different things to have muscles.

For most eating normally is totally enough, at least if you live in western countries (and have already good diet), as the protein consumption is already very high, and you don't actually need that much protein to have muscles.

If recovery is problem, just train less often

I love being in shape. 6' (yes, that's feet you Euro-trash metric users) and 215lbs (yep, pounds bitch). Size 34 waist. Boom!

I eat 6,000 calories a day, but I burn most of them training 4 hours of BJJ and weights every day of the week.

You're associating with the wrong women. There's a Chinese term that translates to "prosperity belly". You need to educate these women that Paunch = Baller!

KickAssJesse 08-29-2014 09:28 AM

if you're a soda drinker, swap it out with water; that's about 10 to 15 pounds depending on your portions.

Choopa Phil 08-29-2014 09:29 AM

Soda is absolutely horrible! Cut it out asap!

You may want to check your ratios. 34 is pretty round for training that much.. I'm at around 33 right now and I'm soft as shit.. I've had a bad year with injuries though.

cut down on carbs maybe?

Exactly. BMI is bullshit.

And weight doesn't mean jack shit either really.

What matters is your body fat % and your waist measurement.

I was going to point this out too...34 is a big waist for being in shape imo...anything over 32. I say 29 in the summer around 30 in the winter. I hate the winter. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I'm actually closer to 31-32", but I wear size 34 pants because I can't stand tight pants. The shorts I'm wearing in my picture are size 32.

I'm also a "big guy" -- I have a large frame. I just dropped down from 220 to 215.

man add injuries to your winter! hehe they tend to compound while being inactive too. Just starting to crawl out of that hole now.

As you get older you sure start to train differently. I remember a few years back when you and I would talk and we would be at 2 opposite ends of the spectrum...now...same page!!! Our bodys ache when we workout but they hurt when we don't.

I can jump in the sauna for a few hours tonight and post pics of me in a tight shirt too man, wouldn't change that my bodyfat % is too high right now. bf% and waistlines don't lie.

I'm not saying thats unhealthy, i'm just saying for someone training for 4 hours they should be more slim. I got down to 28 without the gym at one point. (with the gym is obviously better, i'm only saying for example)

A 34 waist is not big or unhealthy for someone who is 6'0" and 215lbs. I haven't had my body fat measured in a long time because at 40 years old, I'm not trying to win any beauty contest. I train because I've trained my entire life and it's my drug of choice.

Losing weight is 80% diet

I lost 70lbs in 7 months, but thats because I was diagnosed with diabetes and I had to.

I've said twice now that it isn't unhealthy. Your height and weight have zero to do with your waist size though, that is my point. Nobody has a 'big frame' they just have higher bf%

get your carbs down a lot, limit them to only vegetables and a tiny bit of fruit, increase your fats (yes, fats) and you will see the difference fast I assure you. From a fighters perspective think about weight classes. You are in the heavyweight division, when you probably could get down to at least a welter weight without sacrificing strength.
