Spam users on my forum
I have added a forum to the blog some time ago, but I had to delete all the users and threads as it was spammed like hell.
http://www.boobsrealm.com/forum/index.php Now I have added captcha and a box where people have to type YES to confirm they are humans. However, I still get 20 users per day who are spammers. What else should I add to avoid these guys? I am worried that when I launch the forum for everybody I wuld have users that I will not know are spam and others that are real members interested in the forum. |
Simple Machines man... Dude. Screw that forum software. Every single one I installed on a new domain was spammed to death in a matter of a week. The domain could be fhdjfjsldjfkwjfnwl.com and it would be screwed. Look around.

Thanks.. Damn..i paid thr freaking programmer for that crap.. Fortunately it wasn't much.. Well will need a new forum... Thanks!!

Well try alternative captcha till you find the right one.Every forum script have problem with spam as default captcha and often alternatives as well get broken. But some simple captchas like howmuch is 2+2 can be more effective then any image captcha.

SimpleMachines? Captcha for first 10 posts, not just for registrations and registrations with manual approve.

Seems the best way, yet time consuming, is to manually approve them for access on the boards, similarly to what GFY does. Require them to email you for approval. You will experience much less spammers.

You are getting Xrumered, use puzzle captcha, problem solved

Ok cool. Will try that
