Are "Ex-Girlfriend" Sites Considered "Revenge Porn"?
 

The ex-girlfriend sites that use stolen and "submitted" content, wouldn't that fall under "revenge porn" laws since the content is being used without permission?

I know this is a US law and not every state has adopted it, but it may become a federal law.

Kind of risky nowadays, what do y'all think?

No, they are not. If you buy the content from me and others. If they are stolen then I bet a judge could consider them as such.

If you have a model release and 2257 docs your are fine. If you don't your site is illegal whether it's revenge porn or not. Unless you want to claim safe harbor, in which case you have to pretend you don't have any moderation or editorial control of user submitted material, so good luck getting billing approved if you have no control of your site's content.

Some do buy it. Most steal it from Tumblr
