My place in the mountains is highly inefficient and not fireproof so I have been looking at all sorts of great new designs from supper high tech modular designs, pour in place, rammed earth and more.
Amazed at what's out there and surprised at how many people homes buy are virtually press-board and paint.
This design looks cool but there are from enough windows, however high winds and flooding does not look like much of an issue. Have a few friends with round houses. Decorating is very tough. -
If there's ever a major earthquake your house runs the risk of rolling away.

Few windows with lots of extra surface. dark and hard to heat and cool. Much larger then the usable space and you get to lug your shit up and down stairs every day. Yep 0 out of ten for me but you go for it.Comment

Sooooo, let me get this right - this would need to be flooded by at least 7 foot of water before the sphere part of the house even got touched ... and your rectangular box next door would be covered in shit 'n mud up to the first floor ... and probably broken up/floated off meanwhile ...
