Frustration - Trying to book 2 flights to New Zealand...

Via the ONLY travel agent in town, for my Son a future Daughter-in-Laws honeymoon...

I have 'loaded up my card' and its my sons day off from work... And we are told all their systems are down, and so while they can 'talk' to us about it... They cant give any exact prices, times dates or actually make make bookings!!!!

The reason I want to do it via a bricks n mortar local shop, is despite the fact that it costs a bit more - I wanna ensure that I have recourse should they (for some reason - NO FAULT OF THIER OWN) be unable to get the flight...

And people wonder why people are going out of biz, cause everything is being done online these days?

Did you shit in the travel agent ?

Or tell them about your faeces fixation ?

Perhaps you mentioned that you thought their service was shit ?

Maybe if you told them that you wanted a poo they might have sorted your problem ?

Perhaps the card machine decided that you cunt not afford the tickets ?

i have not used a travel agent since the internet was invented.

i have booked lots of flights, even on local thai budget airlines - never had an issue

find your best option here: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/

and wherever you book, you always get an option for extra insurance in case you need to cancel or change

I have missed flights that I booked online and no big deal, they put you on the next available flight. If you fly with a large airline you are pretty good these days. You can cancel flights on most major airlines up to 48 hours before the flight and get a credit. I've done it with Delta a couple of times and used the credit for later in the year or whatever.

No, I totally understand what you are saying, and if was a flight for myself, I'd happily go the internet route. However after spending in total over £7,000 on their wedding, (& a potential of £2,000 more on the flights and airport transfer service) I wanna make sure that the flights go as planned.

If I book online and theres a problem, I could well be pushed from pillar to post, and bounced around site after site etc, (In the hope I give up) before I get satisfaction...

At least if its a local business I can (if need be go and physically assault someone IRL) J/K Should something go wrong - Call me old fashioned, but I just wanna make sure all goes to plan.

If you dont get any joy from your agent try http://www.austravel.com/ - They have been around for years and I always use them - They have good prices and telephone support...

I have booked more than a FEW flights internationally online and NEVER had a problem.

Pleased to report that it is all done now :)

Perhaps a bit more expensive than online, however I have peace of mind about it :)

Online gives you the same recourse and probably more as they man the phone lines 24/7 versus some outfit down the street that is 9/5.
