Listening to these live radio broadcasts from WWII gives me goose bumps - live coverage of D-Day landings, the dropping of the atom bombs, the death of FDR, Churchill's magnificent oratory, the fall of Berlin, Hitler dies

The greatest show on earth - total global war we'll never see again.

So weird the accents of American and Canadian broadcasters, like the way actors in the 30s and 40s talked, even regular people in man on the street interviews had that peculiar diction.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Nuclear weapons - no country is going to lose 500,000 men like the US did and 27 MILLION like the Russians did in WWII without firing off nukes long before it got to those numbers.

The next total war will be total armageddon wiping out most of the world's population.

The radio broadcast is creepy in a sense that thousands are dying as they are speaking.

Yep it's chilling stuff and boggles my mind because it was all so unnecessary - one madman one country pretty much caused it all, the European part anyway. The world watched him for years and rather than cut the cancer out quick they let him metastasize.
