Well I guess affiliate support just sucks everywhere on the net.

I knew that affiliate support in adult sucked bad (with one or 2 bright exceptions) but since I don't deal with mainstream sponsors hardly at all I did not realize that some of them just suck balls too.

My wife has had an account on a major web retailer site for about 8 years or so. (Not mentioning the name on purpose so no retaliation may be taken).

This morning she logged into her account as usual, was answering some of her customers and adding some products to her page.

All of a sudden at the top of the page a note appears that says her account has been suspended and that there will be an email to her explaining why. We check the mail, no email. Since we have our mail handled by google we go to the google account to check the spam folder, nothing there either. She receives email regularly from the retailer so the only logical conclusion there is that no email was actually sent.

So, she goes to the information area and there is information there on how to do a contact request and get a phone call back quickly. She follows those steps but unfortunately it does not work the way the info page describes and there is actually no way to request a phone contact.

Meanwhile I go and find the retailers phone number and call them, after their long taped spiel it says you can leave a message. I wait for the tone and instead get told that the voicemail box is full.

So my wife does a support request explaining the situation and requesting a call back in the body of the request. 2 minutes later we receive a canned reply with some links to the FAQs on the site and telling us that if they don't answer the question to please contact them.

Now this whole rigamaroll would almost be funny if a significant portion of our income did not come from that site but it does. We have tried to generate other income streams but none has been reliable as this one.

So, here we sit on Saturday morning with a dead shop and my wife sending emails to her regular customers explaining what is going on in an attempt to at least save our customer base.

Mother fucking idiots all over the place these days.

Fuck.

Welcome to corporate America. Your complaint is about twenty years too late.

No shit...lol

Had an issue with Google fiber last week. They are stringing cable on the existing poles and there happens to a line that runs across our yard. They have hired contractors todo the work.

So, they were working in my backyard, I brought the dogs in and all that. A couple of hours later I go to check how it is going and whether I can let the dogs out or not. I go out back and there is no one in the yard, no sign that anyone has been there except for a cable hanging across the yard at about neck height. I go and look at the cable and it is going straight into a patch of bushes near our pool. I am like "wtf?"

So, I follow the cable and find it TAPED (yes I said taped) to one of our bushes. So, now I am like really WTF!

So, I happen to know that the city has received all sorts of complaints about the google contractos so I decide to be nice and I call the local google fiber number. After a walk through their phone tree I get a human on the line and tell them what's up. They tell me that it will take 5-7 days to get a message from them to the engineering department.

5-7 days to get the word from them to engineering. Un fucking believable. I asked the girl, "Don't you have email?"

Adult is much better at some things than in 'mainstream'. Amazing but true. Good luck, hope it works out for you and your family. :)

Amazon affiliate help = surprisingly good
CJ Affiliate help = horrible

I just find more and more companies do not care about affiliates let alone customers and vendors, and we wonder why the good old USA is not excelling in customer satisfaction, market domination and growth like it should.

I have had the most amazing experience with 2 adult toy companies in the past 2 months, one of which created and entire shift on how I am now conducting the affiliate end of my business.

There are a few good ones left out there.

The key is you have to build your brand, re-market your traffic - especially after purchases, control the domains and links in a centralized manner so you can redirect your business at a moments notice.

The bottom line I see after watching so many fold up, change or drop programs, change terms and massive market changes that can unfold at what appears overnight, monsters like Amazon have tapped out hard goods down to under 5% and will keep driving prices lower meaning lower commissions, and unless you own your traffic, expect repeat sales commissions to be a thing of the past.

winner winner chicken dinner :thumbsup

have a mainstream site I've been running for years that just sent me the new contract terms and 3 new things in it that has me looking at one of their competitors presently and possibly a traffic shift.

The very best way to get in touch with some of those places is to call them and follow instructions to get to their billing or sales departments - if they have them. THOSE departments are always available and will answer almost on the first ring - then tell them what the problem is and tell them you don't wish to be put on hold, you have been trying to reach them for a long time and you want to speak to a human right now! Works for me almost every single time - an ex-customer service worker I know told me this (My daughter). lol

I use that tactic quite often but it doesn't worj in this case. Might work tomorrow during the work week but not on the weekend.

Thanks for the thought though :thumbsup
