PayPal is free. Just get a regular PayPal account and then get them to send your payments to it.

Tuga 03-11-2003 04:11 AM

ARS uses paypal too.

It IS free to signup. It is NOT a free service.

They take a percentage of all money transferred.

It doesn't cost to receive any money, cause if someone sends me $1000, I get $1000

Hmm. That's interesting.

I don't receive any personal paypal money. I will use it to make a payment however.

I know for a fact that they charge a business I know of a fee every time they receive a payment.

*NOTE* At this point I've gone to check out their actual TOA

Upon looking at their fees, you are correct. For personal use there are no fees.

For business use however there are fees.

Damn, for starters, I'd suggest changing banks. $10 PER cheque? Christ, I thought MY bank was bad.

As for paypal, I don't mind making payments with it, but I've heard WAY too many horror stories to consider receiving payment FROM them.

It IS a very viable solution for business transactions though.

strobi 03-11-2003 05:07 AM

My bank charges around 15$ for a cheque :(

natas 03-11-2003 05:13 AM

yeah I get stuffed £10 per check (about $16)

I just hoard all of my cheques and deposit them once per month.

$2.75 handling charge for the total deposit (this of course doesn't include the exchange rate rape charge).

If I did it seperately it would be quite a bit of money. Thank god I'm lazy.

Paypal takes 2.7% if the money comes from a credit card, if the person who sends you the money takes them directly from the account then it wont cost you anything...

DatingGold 03-11-2003 08:03 PM

We pay via Paypal, every two weeks.

One downside of PayPal being in the billing business is that the billers' affiliate programs will never pay out with PayPal. Who would use a competitor to do business. Ah well.
