My wife's still laughin' at me...

I went in and bought a remastered CD of a 30yr. old album earlier today at BestBuy.

$4.95.

Van Halen - 1984.

The wife's still laughing at me.

She likes Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

I let her listen to "Panama" at 120+ decibals on the way home from BestBuy. It drowned out the laughter (and a Harley next to us at the redlight).

lol, that's the military special ops go to song for driving people crazy.

Set her CD player/alarm clock to play that at warp eleven first thing in the morning.

That'll teach her.

She wasn't overly impressed. :1orglaugh

But I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the first time I've *seen* the album vibrate all the mirrors in the car.

The remaster version smokes it.

That is one of my husband's favorite albums/cds/cassettes and any other avenue it's ever been on. lol

I cannot laugh at his music because he'd start laughing at mine and mine are crazy weird most days - like all over the map crazy. lol

We take turns laughin' at each other's music - all in good fun. :)

Similiar - I've worn out the album/cassette/CD version of '1984' over the years - and it always sounded rather dull to me. But I read the reviews of the remaster and it sounded promising.

I wasn't disappointed. Our new car has an Infinity premium system - and I definitely had an ear-gasm on the way home earlier today. :1orglaugh

That'd definitely fuck up her musical feng shui - her ringtone is 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepson.

At least my first turntable never had a '78 rpm speed. :winkwink:

Day II -- sneak a boom box into the bathroom and crank Eruption while she's in the shower.

Day III -- preset her car stereo so that the second she turns the key she gets Ice Cream Man full bore right between the ears.

By the end of the week you'll have her afraid of every electronic device in the house much less thinking of playing 'Katy Perry'.

We'd be brutha's from different muthas.

I'd swap out Ice Cream Man with Stay Frosty, though. Gotta stay contemporary.

I raised 4 kids and in that time, some of their music has worn off on me and some makes my skin crawl - I found out early on that pretty much if you give them the radio, they will sit and not bounce off the walls while you try to get from pt A to pt B without killing someone. So in that time some of their music got my attention so I have a very odd music library to say the least.

My husband is a mad Rush Fan and that's the only CD he owns I think anymore - in the car anyway - and while I USED to like them, there are days I want to take that cd out and toss it out the window - but I kinda would like to stay married a bit longer. lol

One of my favourite albums. :upsidedow

One of the greatest rock albums of all time

Rochard 08-08-2014 04:32 PM

I'm confused. You bought a CD at a store?

I have finally got my entire music collection in my car - on my ipod. (And yes, I have every Val Halen album ever created on my ipod.) I even have my favorite movies on my ipod - including my all time favorite Top Gun so I watch that while I cruise around town.

Why would you buy a CD?

Likewise, I have almost my entire collection on USB stick (and SG4 cell).

But, several reasons...

1. Wanted to see if the CD player in the new car even worked. I was curious how it sounded. :1orglaugh
2. It's a remaster - far superior quality to the original release.
3. Getting tired of compressed MP3 format on my USB stick.

And hell...it was under $5 bucks. Paid for it with the change from between the car seats. :1orglaugh

1984 is awesome. I like that AND the stuff she likes.

NaughtyRob 08-08-2014 05:45 PM

I agree with this.... CD's sound great in my car.

CDs are better quality than MP3, like vinyl (usually) has better quality than CDs.
