When future historians study the origins of ww3, they will point to snowden as a catalyst.

Thanks snowden!

Funny you say that, I was just thinking that this morning..... how would he feel if he knew he had started WW3. But there's no way he could be blamed, he just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time (from historical perspective).

And I think we are already assuming that WW3 is now inevitable which is a bit far jump, no? I admit it does look dire.......

It's a great plot for a blockbuster. :)

It seems to me that if you would think Snowden started a WW3. Then you would blame him for pointing out that the enemy is actually among us.

If you havent watched the Frontline Special on Snowden you really should.

The optics of Snowden stealing top secret information from us, fleeing, and becoming a resident of Russia, puts him on the wrong side of history in the eyes of most of those to lazy to research and form their own opinion, before the facts change. :2 cents:

Good for him. True American patriot exposing out the evil behind the curtain hiding in Washington DC.

WW3 is already going on and it's the world against Islam.

1. Snowden is a snoop. He was hired to be a snoop, he snooped and then snooped his employers.

2. by his own account, he lied to gain employment at NSA with an *idea* of snooping them.

3. he fled after snooping to an adversarial state, China. And continuing without any plan or forethought whatsofuckingever, jumps CHina for Russia, THE primary state adversary of this country.

4. Each and every one of the leakers that came before Snowden that leaked exactly the same sort of data that Snowden leaked faced their charges and were ultimately exonerated, the previous one is making bank on a talk circuit and wond kudos and accolades.

5. by being such a complete idiot who leaked such a massive amount of data he ended up being a international political football between the 2 hugest adversarial states in the world.

6. He can already be pointed to as a catalyst for the Arab spring by revealing the secret correspondences of Arab dictators

7. It's not what he did, it's his keystone cops exit strategy that created conflict between the 2 nations.

IMO, of course there will be a next big war. Snowden started shit in th emiddle east with his thoughtless plan, he can certainly be a part of anything that may come b/w Russia and USA.

crockett 08-07-2014 04:16 PM

While I am glad that the US govt can't get their hands on him, I've said before that he really needs to get out of Russia. He is nothing more than a future bargaining chip for Putin. Once the whole Ukraine ordeal gets over with Putin will need a bargaining chip with the west to relax the sanctions. Snowden is just that.

In other news, there is another "Snowden" at the NSA that is currently leaking files. Most of the newer revaluations have come from a source other than Snowden's documents, so expect another witch hunt soon enough.

The problem you are not seeing, is things have changed since those other leakers. There are now laws in place that would have never let him see the light of day again. He was right to run.. Look at Bradley Manning for example or what ever he/she calls himself. Snowden would of been locked away just the same.

It's a different country now than it was..he would of been locked away and the keys thrown away, which will still happen if he ever gets caught. If the govt ever gets their hands on him he will never get out of jail.

Manning was military and suffered through their process, not due process.

I have to very much disagree with you re: the outcome of Snowden, Thomas Drake, the NSA snooper that is currently on the talk circuit leaked docs from his NSA stash just in 2010.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Andrews_Drake

I can't think of any reason other than BO that would make Snowden not rake it in like Drake.

Love the Drake!

:)
