Canadian in cams here - FWIW, my company has GST exemption because all of our money comes from outside of Canada (the US) - We don't have to charge anyone GST and at the end of the year, CRA refunds all GST that was charged to us on anything we write off like office space, internet connection, cars, etc etc. Exemption is the way to go because without it you're going to have to pay it without any way of charging for it.

But what happens when some models and customers are Canadians? Actually, my partners, programmers, designers, etc are in Asia. I am the only one in Canada, but in charge of the marketing and planning. We though that incorporating the company in USA, Canada or UK was better for our credibility and get a a way of being taxed less.
