Is something up with Gmail ??

Apart from being the piece of shit it normally is. A cousin of mine isn't getting emails at all now, and i can't see anything which would cause it. He can send mail, but can't receive. He is waiting on something important coming through.

My Gmail still seems to work fine. But i can't seem to help him out here... :arcadefre

oh dear, haven't you read the news about what gmail has been doing?

You know that thing Facebook did to it's users? Manipulating what they saw, when they saw it . . . Google voice especially :2 cents:

Your cousin should check his filters and also his forwarding by clicking the settings tab then selecting Filters then Forwarding.

If google thinks something might be spam they put it in your spam folder, but if they are pretty sure they KNOW it's spam, or that the sender is a spammer, they will reject the message entirely, you will never know someone sent a message.

The security breach ? Sure i know about that.

Being able to send mail and not receive ?

Yup i've been doing all this for him. I still can't see anything up that would block mail coming through...

Are you sending from a Gmail account?

Or your own domain? If so, make sure you set up the reverse DNS settings (I forgot what its called) to let receiver know its not spam. This caught me out with Gmail before.

I had been using Gmail for a long time but it started fucking up for me so I got an account with Fastmail..$40/year (they have cheaper plans like $10/year) but the service is awesome.
