Laptop, humidity questions.
When I walk from my air conditioned house into the Florida humidity my sunglasses instantly fog up with condensation. Is this same effect happening internally to my laptop? Is this a problem or am I worrying about nothing?
Thanks ?.. |
Not unless you are wearing it.

If you can get the full tech specs they often have a max humidity rating...
|
Laptops are warm if they are running... so no problem.
Turned off, in the fridge and then turned on in 90 degree heat would be bad... Let's go for a motorcycle ride sometime.... Candi and I are always looking for an excuse to ride! |

So, If I turn the laptop on first, warm it up, then take it outside to where I'll be using it I'll minimize any temperature humidity problems?

Also when you go outside in sunglasses you will get moisture coming from sweat and your breath - I doubt they would steam up as much if you carried them in your hand for example..... |

I knew a girl that had a moist laptop, it was never a problem though. :1orglaugh
Some newer portable devices actually run hot to reduce/eliminate internal moisture issues. Some actually have sensors for controlling internal moisture, also. |

Just take cold beer from fridge and you will see the effect. |

I keep my house about 71 degrees, right now it's 93 degrees outside, 71% humidity. |

We had a rule in army, that we should keep guns outside warmed tent (at winter), although we often just ignored that. The rule was mostly not because of the moisture, but because when you take the gun outside, it first gets wet and then frozes and then.. shiiiitt, if enemy is coming. So there is a lot of different condensation issues to deal with. |

In the winter if you leave your laptop outside like in your car overnight and then take it indoors in the heat, let it warm to room temp for about an hour before booting up. |
I know I had an issue doing ski photography. Lens cap on at all times when entering and exiting buildings!
