We are sending troops to Ukraine
 
The Netherlands is taking her job serious, we are sending the KCT (Korps Commandotroepen) to Donetsk so our people can do their job without having those amateur rebels fucking up their jobs. No idea how Poetin will react on this, but who cares. The people we send are the best of the best.

Many time I had to hear here we as The Netherlands are to soft and underestimate the situation. But when it comes to serious investigation, we have some tax money left to do the job good.

there is never a mention of 40 ( regarding the KCT that are on their way ) , but I assume you mean the Royal Police Force that is there now. These troops are following them to protect those 40 unarmed people who are doing the investigation. The article you just read is behind on their news.

it was stupid to send 40 unarmed police officers to join the investigation team, so we finally secure those people with some decent armed people. It was a stupid idea to send unarmed police officers to investigate the crash side to begin with. I am sure you can not wrap your head around this, cause your full of yourself.

If you would have read the article, we already send our royal police force there ( they are the target ) , without any weapons, THAT WAS a stupid idea, so the next team we send is there to protect those we send first.

And i still see no relation between investigating a crash side on a safe way without those rebels removing and destroying and stealing evidence and between a war we had no share in, only there to maintain peace which went a little over our heads. I see ... point taken. The reason I mentioned it like this is cause we send 40 Marechaussee`s without any arms first without anyone to protect them, it was logical to assume that they would be sitting ducks in some sort of way, so that we send troops to protect them was a welcome news item. Thanks for clearing it up.

Considering the current state of affairs of NATO and the EU with regard to the Russians -- this sort of drama is predictable.

America had similar drama in the media after 9/11, albeit a territorial attack with a greater death toll. We allowed it to ignite the war in Iraq and the resulting mess. Unlike what occurred in Georgia economic sanctions are being tried first.

Ukraine has been the bread basket of the Empire of Russia, the USSR and now the Russian Federation -- winter is coming and the grain storehouses in Russia may be hurting for supply. Conversely, the natural gas supply to Europe this winter is questionable.

So, is Ukraine worth starving or freezing over?

Look at this map. I would say that Ukraine produces pretty much wheat.
