Back in the 80's & 90's when life was just fun....... and there was no ISIS or IRS or other shit. Life was just cool and you could have a burger and fries and pizza and just LIVE LIFE without some fucking terrorist blowing your face off and life was just CUSHY and SWEET and there was trading places and beverly hills cop and CHEERS and LIFE WAS JUST SWEET and CUSHY AND SWEET.
AND NO-ONE EVER DIED (it was not possible to DIE) We're gonna yearn for those days...... |
|
One of my all time fave movies.
And yes i loved those days too. But then again, i was young so i guess i wouldn't have been too aware of what other shit was going down at that time anyway... |

I feel sorry if you think the 80's or 90's was in any way a golden age of life in America. The age of "just say no", AIDS, iran contra and MTV. Hip hip and lets not hooray.

Haha! Awesome find!!
The '80's had its' problems, like all decades do, but it was also a more simple time. Remember, no cell phones, laptops, Internet, HDTVs, smart phones, Twitter, Facebook, no iPods, no Uber cars, none of this non-stop technological OVERWHELM we have today. Remember these? Pay phones Sony Walkmans Regular ol' coffee (no Starbucks) Small stores all around (no Wal-Mart) Macintosh II computers Wang computers Atari game consoles (no Xbox or Playstations) non-GMO foods (real chocolate! Real sugar!) The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson HBO and a few cable channels (not 1000+) ACTUAL NEWS and investigative reporters (not talking heads and 24 hour propaganda like we have now) Magazines Newspapers Book stores Record stores (LPs) Record stores (CDs) VCRs (no DVDs or TiVo) Steroid-free baseball (and no Wildcards, interleague play and lame video replay challenges, either) Actual telephones as home phones Answering machines Pagers Beepers Station wagons (with wood paneling!) MTV (when they played actual music videos) No undressing at airport security Actual (good) sitcoms/no reality tv Cassettes Madonna Prince The Cosby Show Guns 'n Roses Ah the '80's!! :) |

Seeing an awesome live rock band.... Superman, star wars...... nothing wrong with the 80's Sit coms these days are so punchy, there's no personality. I dont remember cancer being anywhere near as common in the 80's The reagan years were the good ones. If I compare CHEERS with FRIENDS, CHEERS wins hands down...... FRIENDS is just a list of one-liners strung together. The characters are totally plastic like all the other modern sitcoms. OK i maybe i got ott about the nostalgia but I really believe the world is turning uglier and uglier day by day...... people dropping dead with cancer every day, surveillance shit, never ending wars, terrorism, depressions, disasters, governments attacking their people, things are going the wrong way. I really believe 10 - 15 yrs from now things are just FUCKED and we're gonna look back at those times as the best years. |

He is a multi-talented actor whose genius has yet to be realized. One day the world will know and understand...one day they will name bridges and roads in his honor. That time will come.

You can't say that the 80s and 90s were great when they included Mick Jager and David Bowie doing "Dancing in the Streets".
. |

I saw him at a party a couple months back asleep around 12am on the couch while everyone was partying. I was thinking man that guy has to be tired to keep up with his life. Respect.
