My dog is still alive. I was just thinking about what it will be like when I have to say goodbye. I'm sure he'd love to have a dozen hamburgers.

i'm going to cry like a little girl when my dog goes. you know when you get them at puppies that you will one day watch them go, and there's no denying the pain you'll feel. you just have to love them and enjoy all your days with them and not think about it.

I emailed the link to my wife and she emailed back..

"fuck you, man!"

My friend just lost her dog yesterday, she is a mess right now. We get so attached to these life partners.

Oh that's just terrible and beautiful all at the same time. We buried our Boxer a coupe of years ago and it was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. He lived well past the years he should have, and we loved him so much - we knew he was going too, and while we didn't do this, we let him break all the rules he wanted to. He died in peace, but it sure wasn't peaceful to our family - it stll makes all of us cry like babies!

Going by the replies it's probably in my best interests i don't click...

Gorgeous story... :) Dogs are really our best friends... :thumbsup

Not sure why, but the 12 Hamburgers part and "Breaking Rules" part get to me. I think its a great story too but wonder now how the family feels. Are they happy they did it? Or sad they didn't do it sooner / more often?

I had to put my Shepherd mix down a few years ago.
One of the toughest things to do ever.

Got a 2nd dog last friday.... Black Lab... will probably look like that one.... weird to read all that when you just got a 8 week puppie at home...

I loved the photos. It made me cry.

On June 11th, I had to do the same thing with my cat. June 10th the vet told me he had fluid in his lungs, and it was likely cancer. He was 18 years old.

I took him home. I slept with him all night and in the morning he had the best breakfast, went out to go potty, came in had some more breakfast. I took lots of photos, and off we went.

It was peaceful, and I'm so glad I got one last night to cherish my sweet cat. It's a beautiful and horrible thing at the same time.

I knew I shouldn't have looked. =(
