Meanwhile...back in 1964:

In 1964:

Ali beat Sonny Liston to become the heavyweight champion of the world.

Buffalo wings were invented in (of all places) - Buffalo, NY.

The Beatles invaded the United States - sparking the British Invasion.

Ford unveiled the first Mustang.

Sandra Bullock, Russell Crowe, Nicolas Cage, Courtney Cox, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Keanu Reeves and Marisa Tomei were all born.

LCDs (liquid crystal display) were unveiled.

Stanley Kubrick released "Dr. Strangelove".

The Kinks had a big hit with "You Really Got Me" (later covered by Van Halen)

The Addams Family, Gilligan's Island and Bewitched premiered on TV.

G.I. Joe hit the shelves in toy stores.

Nelson Mandela began his prison sentence.

Lucky Charms cereal showed up in grocery stores.

BASIC computer language was invented by John George Kemeny and Tom Kurtz.

The Moog synthesizer debuted.

The Tokyo Olympics were broadcast live to the U.S. via the Syncom 3 geostationary telecommunications satellite.

And finally...the Warren Report on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was released
(still one of the most imaginative pieces of fiction literature ever written).

My first appearance in Aug/'64 was only noteworthy to a select few. :winkwink:

Good thing you remember the cool stuff from 1964 instead that guilt stuff below :

White power.

In actuality, I don't 'remember' anything on that list.

But it hasn't escaped my understanding that five decades later and that "guilt stuff" is still costing whitey a disproportionate taxation burden in welfare payments, incarceration costs and public transit funding.

The good old days in America.

I am not sure if those were the "good old days" or not but this place sure has gone to shit!

If I remember right, they did that at the New York World's Fair. Lots of good stuff came out of that fair.

And they are still rocking it :thumbsup

They shaped me into the man I am today :(

My little brother wanted GI Joe. I was 8 years old so I was too old for dolls.

Damn right, negroes like Oprah, Jay-Z and Magic Johnson have all their taxes diverted to
mink conservation instead of welfare and prisons.

States use sales taxes to pay for their welfare, medicaid, food stamps, jails and transportaion
and the negroes refuse to pay the taxes by not buying food, clothes, cars, or boats.
It's an attempt by the black community to embarrass the white man by starving themselves to death.

I was born in August of 1964 too - thank god I am not the only one around here. ;)

CDSmith 07-13-2014 08:47 PM

In 1964 my vocabulary consisted of "goo goo" and "ga ga". Clearly I was, at the tender age of 1, already exhibiting a massive level of psychic ability nigh on a par with the likes of Nostradamus, predicting that some 40 years in the future there would be a band called The Goo Goo Dolls and an oddball and somewhat trampish pop diva named Ga Ga.

Barely out of the womb and already a prodigy I was, obviously.

Btw, go ahead, I give you permission...

feel free to post "Trust CD to get this thread back on track" :D

fitzmulti 07-13-2014 09:28 PM

A good thread ruined because it didn't mention enough about blacks. It is bad enough we are forced to hire and now we have to mention it in every thread or you are being racist LOL.
Hey I tried but it did not work. OBAMA!

You mean Cassius (Marcellus) Clay(, Jr.) beat Sonny Liston, he was not known as Ali until a later time.
