What to do with a mainstream site that gets over 9k uniq users a day
 

Have a game site which I have just left and not done much with. Its been around since 2007 and now getting over 9k unique users a day almost all from the US. The flash games which are on the site were mostly from Mochiads who have now gone. Kinda unsure what to do with this site now .. any suggestions ?

in my experience (not necessarily your specific situation) game sites are generally low quality in terms of ecpm. Im not sure if its the younger age group that frequents them or not, but most game sites just seem to use ad networks to monitize the inventory.

We had one for awhile and tried like crazy to optimize with individual offers. At the end of the day when we just put up network tags it did about as well as it could with no time wasted.

Not that this is a bunch of helpful info, but its what I remember from our go round :)

Try to find a mainstream traffic broker and sell traffic to them.

Cheers yep was using the in game ads but the company who used to do it has gone now, as you say I am unsure of what age groups are visiting the site although one thought is to turn it into a gambling site because I have had paid ads on the site from gambling sites in the past and it does have a Casino games section on it

What percentage of the traffic is mobile? You can run game install offers like Castle Clash all day long.

For web there are a few decent PPL game offers, Wartune, League of Angels, etc. Plenty of CPA networks offer these.

adsense
MGID - should do really well
adcash - (tons of online game offers)
clickbank - lots of gaming products

Adsense? Unless I'm missing something (kinda skimmed the thread), Adsense should work well and 9k daily is not that a small chunk of traffic either, you should make at least a few hundred bucks per month, better than nothing

I had a game site for a while, the bandwidth was horrendous and I just couldn't generate any cash from it so it was quickly dumped.

what networks still run league of angels? the two I was apart of shut down the offer a while back ;[

Is a horrible decision, fact is if you're changing the site to focus on gambling that is like starting from square 1. Expect to be starting a whole new site.

The flash games traffic you have today will be worth nothing in that new niche. In time the visitors will also leave permantently never coming back again.

If you want to be smart push the old concept of the site "flash games".

op dont kill the site, 9k uv are a lot,
idk whether you are already using adsense or not, but adsense , propellerads , etc are a good start.,
