How many of you have a security cam system?
I'm looking to purchase a newer system that can record and have internet access if I'm away from home.

Any recommendations?

I'll sell you one online for say...................$300.

Ok so maybe this is not a "security" system, but it would be a good laugh to point a red laser at the chest of someone breaking into your house and see their reaction.

Mine is not big, 3 cams, but if you are going for a system,pick some HD.

I have a Swann system which has been a huge pain in the ass over the years.

Get no less than a 16 channel system. Install all wiring in pipes. Mix between night vision and PTZ outside. Mount them all very high where they can not be reached.

My system is on a UPS with a solar charger and cellular backup. Same as my alarm system. Cut my phone lines and knock my power out and I will still be covered indefinitely.

Don't know what you are setting this up for (business or personal, wharehouse, house or apartment) so I will leave you only with the below short list:

Look for 600/700 TVLs cameras
LED lighting
Twin or Triple Infrared Sensors (Outdoor Parameters)
Battery backups
Siren/Recorded Audio Alarm

Dropcams are the best way to go.
Two-way audio, too.
