I've been using 'Silent Knight' since 1984 - long before a security company jacked the .com for it. :1orglaugh

Curious about the longevity of other nicks.

Started out as spunkums on MSN,groups in 97 and eventually became a Spunky

Since 2000 or so - pretty much the time I started working in adult full time. My nick name before that was Zak3.

Also.... The name "Richard" is really a nick name too. I've been called that since 1986 or so. Long story.

I usually create a new nickname new each time I register for something.

Since 1999

Since the late 1970s or early 80s, it has been repurposed a few times from games to BBSs to boards and whatnot.

I was X on KSU's servers from about 81. I was still an undergrad, but taking graduate courses in computers. Networking was a nightmare back then. By 84 things were pretty simple. Were you on a Server or BBS SilentKnight, if Server, which one?

Anyhow changed to bxy with the birth of HotMail, dumped them when they sold out, but kept the nick.

BBSes, yep. Quite a few of them back in the day - including my own.

Sentinel, Offworld, Wanderer's Rest, Fortress of Fears, Carnal Knowledge...a dozen more I can't recall the names of.

Used it on FidoNet.

But the nick pre-dated BBSes - first used it as a CB radio handle, then named my first custom showtruck with it (Toronto, mid-80s), had it done as a self-designed knight-in-armour shoulder tat.
