If you could change your life...

What would you do different?

How old? What was the turn that you wish you could change?

Relentless 06-29-2014 07:31 AM

You can change your life.
Always.
The mistake is thinking you can only do it in the past.

scubadiver626 06-29-2014 08:26 AM

I wouldn't change a thing.

No ragrets!

Again... you don't read threads... That was not the question... again...
I hope this threads doesn't become a $/click thread...

SilentKnight 06-29-2014 08:47 AM

I would've bought a crapload of Apple Inc. stocks back in the mid-70s.

I wouldn't change much - perhaps make more effort to stay in touch with good friends.

Rochard 06-29-2014 08:49 AM

I wouldn't change a thing about my past.

I look back at everything and it's been a wonderful ride. I left home at a young age, got out on my own, joined the Marines, played the field until I was ready to settle down, went to college, got married, had a kid, made a boatload of cash. I have Playboy on my resume, my wife still puts out on a regular basis, I play basketball every morning, cycle every afternoon, between basketball and biking I look at porn.

It just doesn't get much better than that.

Markul 06-29-2014 08:56 AM

I can really only think of one big thing and that was marrying my ex-wife... what an epic fuckup that one was!

How so? I would change this thing - I would go train as a basketball player since 8 years old so that I could be a pro. How can i change that when I am 30+ old?

Barry-xlovecam 06-29-2014 09:13 AM

I would has said yes to living with my very wealthy Grandparents and let Grandpa have paid for me to go to medical school -- my cousins are all Doctors -- 2 are specialists.

Oh well, bad choices ...

Roald 06-29-2014 10:29 AM

Look forward and learn from the past...

baddog 06-29-2014 10:29 AM

I would have skipped the first marriage.

Reminds me of the joke - how do you know if the guy sitting next to you at the bar is a firefighter?

Oh...don't worry - he'll tell you.

Apple didn't go public until the early 80's.

I used to get wrapped up in that "I wish I had/wish I hadn't" bullshit.

Unhealthy way to think. Live in the now and do what you can TODAY.

Tam 06-30-2014 07:45 AM

For me, nothing - everything I have done or had happen to me has put me where I am today - the bad things I learned a great deal from and made me stronger - the good things helped to put me where I am as well as being learning experiences as well.

My life hasn't been a bed or roses, in fact mostly the thorns from the bed of roses, but at the end of the day, I have a great family, very good friends, an awesome job and almost everything I want and everything I need - so all of it helped me get where I am - not rich by NO stretch - but happy!

Sure there are things I'd do differently if I had it to do over, but every single thing I learned from and managed to pull at least one good thing from, so I am ok with the mistakes as well - but to regret one thing would mean I regretted my life and I certainly do not! Each thing helped me gain at least something good in my life!

I understand that this is healthy thinking but it makes no sense. You would grab the knife that you cut your finger with because of the butterfly effect? I think pain aversion wether physical or emotional would force us to redo certain decisions.

AllAboutCams 06-30-2014 08:19 AM

Not spend so much money on shit

DWB 06-30-2014 06:59 PM

One thing I really wish I would have done is take multiple language classes throughout school. It was optional and I didn't take any, like a retard. Spanish and French were two options that I wish I would have signed up for. Later in life I learned basic Spanish, but it would have been a lot easier if I would have learned when I was young.

kane 06-30-2014 07:06 PM

One thing I would have done is worked harder in 1999-2003 in this business. I was making good money easily by just making a few galleries each week. I played a lot and fucked off and lot and didn't really focus. Had I been smart I would have started a paysite and focused all my efforts on sending traffic to it to cash in on those easy days of rebills.

Aside from this business there have been a few jobs that I have had that I wouldn't have taken and one girl I wouldn't have dated. Otherwise I would do it mostly the same.

420 06-30-2014 07:11 PM

When I think of changing my life I don't think of the past or ragrets. I think about being better now and in the future. If you think it's too late then you have must a defeatist attitude. I'm just saying if you're not happy then get happy. Fuck the past, it's over.

TylerBang 06-30-2014 07:37 PM

Once I was employed by a tech firm that offered me a large raise and I took it, instead of stock. Giant
mistake. The company was purchased by some Arab royal and then resold to NASDAQ in a flip some years later. But Yea we aren't supposed to look back.

LAJ 06-30-2014 08:39 PM

C'mon... EVERYONE has made a mistake or taken a wrong turn at SOME point in their lives that hindsight being 20/20 would be nice to turn it around.

I'm sorry... but all you people with perfect lives and nothing at all they would suggest changing from their past... even one decision... bullshit.

My life isn't perfect, very far from it - but to have regrets and having the chance to change something in it may have set me on a different path that didn't put me where I am today and I am, while not perfect, happy with my life, who I am with, who I work for, where I am in my head and other ways - I don't want perfect, I don't want rich beyond my wildest dreams, I want to feel safe and happy and loved and I have all of these things in my life - to wish something I had done was different may have, like I said, put me on a different path that would have changed these things and those are things you cannot redo or replace - so while not perfect, I'll take the side of no regrets - it all put me where I am and I like where I am. So not bullshit here, not even a little bit.

Well if grabbing a knife was the worst decision I've ever made, then yeah I guess I would grab it again... it taught me not to do that shit again, for sure. lol

pornmasta 06-30-2014 09:43 PM

i don't know, we are supposed to learn from our errors, so if i didn't make them, i need another way to understand the same thing and the consequences could be ever worse.

I wish I could change having to live with mind numbing pain 24/7 since I was injured in the '91 Gulf War.
