Little Cooper Harris was mourned Saturday at his funeral in Alabama but his father, accused of murdering the toddler by leaving him inside a steaming hot car, was barred from attending.

Instead, 33-year-old Justin Ross Harris sat behind bars at the Cobb County Jail in Georgia, where he is being held without bail on on murder and child endangerment charges.

Breaking her silence since her husband's arrest, Leanna Harris told mourners at her baby's funeral that she was not angry. "Ross was and is a wonderful father," she said Saturday, to applause.

He was allowed to listen to the service via a phone line. His son "never did anything to anyone," he said, weeping. "I'm just sorry I can't be there there."

Baddog- it does not have to be a very hot day at all for the temperature inside a car to spike enough to kill a small child. Heat stroke affects children 5 times faster than adults, so it takes much less exposure.
