How do you get rid of styes?

I've had these styes under both my eyes for a while now. From what I've read, styes are basically an infection. I wear contacts, so I think my contacts transferred the infection from one eye to another.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago they were pretty bad. Really sore and puffy. I started putting warm compresses on them, which really helped. The puffiness went down and they started to feel much better. But I still have a little spot under each eye.

A bump, rather. One is red and almost looks like a scab. My other one basically just looks like a big pimple.

How do I get rid of these bastards? Anything short of going to the doctor?

I dont think you can get rid of them.I would visit the doctor

least im not the only one....for starters, warm compresses 4 times a day...usually drain by themselves, if not consult your dr, with mine, he usually lances them open as i get them under the top eye lid...then prescribes some form of antibiotic...they "supposedly" last a week or so, i have found this to be complete bull shit...but anyway...if your brave, you can also use a needle and pop it, look for the head of it, and start poking very carefully

never experienced anything like that. but in general my eyes are pretty fucking sore. too many years in front of computer screens all day/night...

Nah, they're a lot better. But they aren't healing anymore.

if what you have started off irritated and now has shrunk down to a small lump under your eyelid, what you have might not be a sty. It might be a collasion. (sp)

Collasion's are caused when there is a blockage in the eyelid, which causes some glands in your eyelid to become enflamed. Once that happens, a small pod of mucous will form and it will NEVER go away unless you get surgery. I know because I have had two of them. Each happened in my right eyelid.

You'll have to go to the doctor and he will shoot your eyelid up with some novicaine. Then he'll use this clamp that hurts like a muthafucka and he'll pull your eyelid so it's inside out. Then he'll slice open the selected spot INSIDE of your eyelid and will pluck out a plug of mucous.

It's gonna be uncomfortable and there's going to be some blood. And it isn't pleasant. But if you don't get it taken care of, you'll eventually lose your eyelashes and you'll constantly be worried about people looking at the lump on your eye.

I don't where contacts but I get those about once every two years. When I was younger, I had it removed or busted from a doctor. It wasn't pleasant. Now when I get them, the moment I start to feel the irritation, I try to press on it to let it pop, if it doesn't I steralize a needle and find the head and let it pop. Then I put warm compresses and it normally heals within a day or two.

Remember to change your contacts once it's healed - you'd be doing yourself a favor if you'd wear daily disposable lenses until it heals. If you were in Canada I'd send you trials.

Good luck.

Doctor isnt going to do anything for you if you have stye.

There is a product over the counter you can get that is actually called "STYE" you can get and should use.

If you waste your time going to a doctor, he's just going to tell you to go and get this product.

Its at any and all pharmacies.

Go get it.

Remeber when your mom used to tell you you'd go blind if you kept masturbating as a child?

Well its partially true.

You dont go blind.. You just get stye.

Jabbing hot pokers in both eye sockets will also relieve the problem. This is also the preferred cure for sleeping with your mom.

this may be true IF it's just a sty...if it is a COLLASION, you will need to get it removed by the doctor...I've had two removed so I know...and there wasn't any way they would have gone away with any type of medicine.

Its probably a herpe outbreak in his eyes.

But you should get that checked out by a doc :2 cents:

My girlfriend had the same thing.

You have to stop wearing contacts entirely -- you are allergic to them now. You may not ever be able to wear them again -- wear your glasses until you are entirely healed... If you stop wearing contacts and it does not improve you may need to have surgery to remove the crap from your eye... The longer you wear your contacts the worse it will get... the puss stuff hardens and if the problem is not taken care of quickly -- you will need to have it surgically removed... so stop wearing contacts. My girlfriend saw like 3 eye specialists so I know what I'm talking about.

Also there's a good chance you may be in a polluted area... Do you live by a major roadway or other source of pollution?

That sounds like it exactly.

About the contacts... I've been wearing them for about 3 years. I used to get a stye on my upper lid from time to time, although they did eventually go away even while wearing contacts. I think my contacts are fine, they just irritate things a bit.

I'll go have it checked out this week.
