Very true. If you want to have an intelligent business focused discussion, you do that at other forums. If you want to be a social butterfly, talk about current events and alike, you do that at GFY.
Take a look around at the GFY daily posters, who they are, what they do. The majority are used-to-be affiliates, or beer money barons.

I laugh when people moan about not enough new threads/posts, while not actually making any themselves.
I've been here for years and people seem to forget that there has ALWAYS been a lot of "fucking around" (as it says in the title). So the crazy threads don't bother me. It's very easy not to click them and find another that does interest you.
There used to be more business posts because there was a lot more newbies back in the day, so most were learning stuff about the biz each day. Now, many have left the biz, so it's mostly just us that have been here long term, and i guess we know most of what we want to know which makes us our income as it stands.
However when a biz thread is posted, there are usually still very good replies and advice.
So rather than moan, contribute...

No it hasn't. It has re-organzied and shifted into a tighter focus. Plenty of people still go to shows (fuck man, there's a fucking show nearly every WEEK somewhere around the world, ask JFK and Baddog) and attendance is GROWING.
The people who have 'left the Industry' have either taken their wealth and moved onto other things or were never 'Lifers' to begin with. No, I think it's because the Industry is undergoing a massive consolodation of resources, which means less 'players' (not 'playas') and a tighter focus on in-housr revenues. Meaning less affiliates are required or sought after which means less affiliates to keep GFY pumping.
Also remember that back in the Golden Days circa 2000-2005 you didn't need to be a 'real webmaster' to make even decent money online. I know because it's this 'hey even an amateur can do it!' mentality is what drove me to choose the Adult Industry in the first place. Now, these days, with a medium-sized company, I am a 'professional' meaning this is how I make my money and feed my family. I think many 'amateur' affiliates have moved on since it now takes real focus, energy and resources to even hold steady in this ever-changing biz.

I'm not saying YOUR personal biz is dead - Or that porn is dead overall... But the fundamental basis has shifted so far, its unrecognisable...
Don't get me wrong - I fully respect that you ACTUALLY create things.... What I'm really saying is that old school GFY biz (A guy putting an affiliate banner online, and then saying 'Look Mom! IM IN PORN !!!) Is no longer a viable option... And that, to me, was a HUGE part of the loss of GFY activity....
Things just are NOT the same these days. Lay & I travelled the fucking WORLD together, and although I didn't personally appear on screen, we were making more money than we could spend !
Honestly, I shit you not, I went to a drawer in a hotel once, looking for a pair of socks, and there was SO MUCH MONEY in it... There was no room for socks ! (The good old days)
But the point I'm trying to make, is that even if I met 'Lay.2.0' so to speak... That we couldn't EVER do it again - Worlds changed, industries changed, and the MONEY ISNT THERE ANYMORE
But thats life - Shit changes - All I'm really saying to the Metaguy is DONT blame people like me for GFY being 'DEAD'...
