Did you even play football at "garden" level? If you did you would know how difficult it is to combine power and accuracy. That stands for pros as well.

JesseQuinn 06-22-2014 04:03 PM

enough $$$$ to keep him in hair products

how is anyone overpaid, if they bring in more for their employers than what the employers pay them?

That dumbass 'argument' staggers me every time I read it or hear it, from the fingers or mouths of the simpletons.

footballers just run around a field wahwah too much money wahwah overpaid wahwah primadonnas wahwahfuckingwah

SGS 06-22-2014 05:01 PM

He makes goals :)

Mutt 06-22-2014 05:05 PM

he had a beautiful cross to set up the tying goal so probably is worth 60K a year which is probably twice the average annual income in Portugal.

Nice argument, but how do you explain how most football clubs are in debt? Including Real Madrid. :upsidedow

that's nothing to do with the fact that: they bring in more revenue for those paying them, than they cost them.

as we all know, money is a big huge flowing thing, from 1 place to the next, and back again. Along the way in your example, everyone still earns, from those loaning the money, to the directors, to the players, to the staff, to the tea lady.

Which is why everyone, everywhere is ALWAYS worth what they are being paid. When they aren't, they are out of that job. Only at *that* point, are they not worth the money, and even then, only to their former employer.

If a company is losing money that means that somebody there is not worth the money they earn. As simple as that. That may be any position in club's case, not necessary the players.

exactly. So while they are still there, everyone is getting paid, the place is running, and everyone in that particular infrastructure is earning, nobody is getting overpaid.

If you bring in $100k a year, but have a $1m mortgage, and can afford to send your kids to school, sports, activities, eat out twice a week, go on holidays, and all the rest of it, can you afford to hire a $5k a year grunt worker to do the things that enable you to earn the 100k a year, to help finance the 1m mortgage, or are you suddenly running at a loss and everything is about to go tits up?

Times that by about a thousand, and you'll understand that footballers are 'overpaid' about as much as a 5k a year grunt worker is.
