Was surfing through the adult.com thread and found this, figured id bring it here and share it, was a very interesting read.

These webmasters are not giving it away for free...they are buying it for others.

Last rant and I'll get tot the point...would you stand out in front of a liquor store or sex shop and buy all the passers by, regardless of age, a porn magazine and then as they walk away yell, "Come back if you want more."

You'd not only end up in the poorhouse, you'd probably be arrested.

Here's the point, every single image, graphic, block of text, movie, whatever, you serve to the web requires bandwidth right? And bandwidth costs money right? Content costs money right? The time it takes to put a graphic together, encode a movie, write some text is money right, time is money right?

My question becomes...what is that text, content, graphic doing for you? Is it paying your bills? It better be or you are not long for the halls of adult webmastering.

I really wish I had the link to this dudes gallery, it was 20 crisp large FULLY HARDCORE PICS with and amateurpages banner below it. And he had like 40 galleries all different content plastered all over the place...guess why he had amateurpages there???

so i submitted a couple of ap click pic galleries.... no hardcore, single girl, no closeup on genitals, etc etc.... tried to do all the right things etc to ensure that some conversion would be had....

pity no one would list a gallery like that (not to mention the number of TGPs that refuse to list ap click pic galleries).... with one gallery i made like $2 and the other is currently running at 24c....

I'd be interested in hearing from hoax or lensman on how to gain listings at tgps whilst maintaining conversions

id like to know also, i pretty much gave up on making galleries for them, yet i still do fantastic with the sponsor overall.

shouldnt the big tgp owners start takin some responsibilty here? but fuck it... i guess if "we" (the submitters) keep puttin the shit up & footin the bandwidth bill, they'll post it... so y should they care? i guess that's why the only thing that will make real, regularly recurring dough is shit you can't find on tgp's...

long story short, i tell my advertisers NEVER to put any hardcore shit in the sets they send to me & if they do, make it ONE pic that will get them to your tour... stop givin our money away people!

good fucking luck getting listed anywhere with traffic that is any good just using teaser galleries. I submit a teaser gallery to thehun, i "might" get listed, but if i do i get decent sales. If i submit a gallery showing closeups and some pussy, I get listed really high and foot a huge bandwidth bill and get ONE sale......

sumpin about too much free porn and me havin a bitch cause i cant get listed at any decent sized TGP

Just because a TGP won't accept a non-explicit gallery doesn't mean you can tone it down a bit. One or two explicit shots instead of half of them will improve your sales to any paysite.

well, here we go again, to satisfy a certain tgp I added explicit shots to teh thumbs,,, 0:419 after 80k visitors.... proof that giving away too much ruins sales

Just wonder when all the gallerymakers and all the sponsors will realise that TGP is nothing but a waste of bandwidth...

alot of people clean up on tgp's... tgp's are a great source of bandwidth, however, I think that tgp owners are getting too cocky and asking too much from gallery submitters. Sure they provide us with bandwidth, but they don't care that it's near impossible to make money and satisfy freeloaders at same time. If anything, gallery makers have more money and bandwidth on the line than the tgp owners do. This is why i decided not to run a tgp anymore. relying on someone else's business loss is not my idea of a good business to be in. SO now I'm generating my own traffic, fuck tgp's
edit: there is still a small handfull of tgp's I'll bother with only because they understand I'm submitting to them to make money, not give away free porn

I seriously doubt it that will ever happen. However, if it would happen then we'd most certainly see a porn dot com bust, just as we saw a mainstream dot com bust a couple of years ago.

if so the only thing that will survive is the BIG players and the amateur sites such as webcam bitch sites that have built a cult following.
