Should GFY use avatars?
 

I think they really can be a good form of artistic expression, or a gigantic distraction and a way for people to have 2 sigs.

In any case, I know GFY has done well enough without them, but what's everyone think about it?

Often times I've wondered if maybe there are avatars on GFY, but you have to get to a certain post-count to see them. That's just me being paranoid, though.

gfy isn't slow for me, and I'm from a 3rd world country that barely has electricity.

It's a message board. You want to be creative and express yourself, write something interesting.

Doubt it. Wouldnt be any more of a drag compared to pic threads of the latest webmaster convention / dinner/ lunch/ party/ gangbang/ whatever, where there is an abundance of over-sized uncropped page spanning pics.

I vote for 480 banners as avatars and FPAs as sigs.

It's way to death of dialup members :)

I like the clean avatar-free nature of the board.

If you use a generic pool of avatars like some boards then every third person looks the same anyway. IF you allow custom avatars then its just more sig-style spam opportunities.

In both cases, it slows down an already slow board.
