YouPorn Founding Members Launch Cloud.xxx
 

The former founders of YouPorn.com are set to launch Cloud.xxx, a new free platform designed to allow content producers to submit clips to tube sites of their choice.

Behind the launch are Richie and Randi, aka Mr & Mrs YouPorn, and JT (also founder of ReallyUsefulCash.com), the trio that started YouPorn.com in 2006.

After YouPorn?s sale to MindGeek in 2011, the creators said Richie and Randi remained and continued to manage the Content Partner Program (CPP) until recently.

When JT discovered the pair were leaving YouPorn he brought them on board for the new project, excited to have the team back together.

"We built a fully automated platform to handle the hundreds of tube clips we submit from our own network of sites to an ever growing list of tube sites every month," explained JT.

He further told XBIZ, ?As a company owner, I see the strain that my staff is under, particularly my editing department. To this point, my answer was just to hire more staff. Then I sat down with my production managers to understand what tools we could create to allow the editors more time to edit, rather than being burdened with tasks that could be automated.

?So, Cloud.xxx was created by Really Useful Limited out of a necessity. ReallyUsefulCash is now more than 20 standalone pay sites and growing rapidly in large part due to our expertise with tube exposure. Cloud.xxx is our way of bringing the fully automated platform we built to handle the hundreds of tube clips we submit to the ever-growing list of tube sites every month out into the daylight where many producers can benefit from it. Now that Richie and Randi are ready to grow it, I'm confident Cloud.xxx will soon become as popular with producers as YouPorn became with consumers.?

The new free offering is opened to any and every content producer that submits clips to tubes, free of charge. The system adds each producers' own watermarks and uploads the clips to their content partner?s accounts with the tube sites.

?Free means free. There is no catch, we earn nothing from this, which explains part of the reason why so many content owners and tube owners I have spoken with are looking forward to the imminent launch of Cloud.xxx. We all expect the result will be a huge improvement of efficiency and profitability for all involved," JT said.

Seven year YouPorn veterans Richie and Randi will be managing the content owner accounts within Cloud.xxx.

Well, it sounds awesome and I'll probably try it. But if you are not making any money by offering the service, why do it?

Sounds like it is encoding the videos on their server. That isn't going to be cheap when everyone and their mother is using it.

Yeah, why free? What is JT getting out of it ?

Congratulations on this exciting new service!! It will be interesting to see how this all develops but I am certainly willing to be involved since I spend MASS amounts of my resources on what JT has stated: editing, uploading, etc etc. In fact, this past weekend I had discussions with my programmer to see how we could automate/make easier the entire process. Sounds like JT is building a systematic solution. Awesome!!

But JT I know you're doing well but how about charging like a nickel a vid per upload or something? LOL You should be making bank out of all this, no? :)

Can't wait to see this go live... There are limitless possibilities for upgrades and future enhancements as well.

Hey The Porn Nerd, I needed to build this system for my own use, so the costs of building the system are already ingested by my company.

Without the support of content owners becoming content partners with YouPorn, then YouPorn would not have been what it was when we sold to Manwin. And in many respects, without having dealt with these content partners, many of whom became very good friends, I believe that I would not have seen the quick success that I have seen with ReallyUsefulCash.com. So why not give this out to the rest of the content owners to use for free? I feel that I owe them a lot, and sometimes, you don't need to make money.

However, Cloud.xxx will have many different functions being released in the near future. Some of these functions will have costs, but I have not set up cloud.xxx to make a profit. Where there are costs, these will be passed on to the companies making use of that particular feature on Cloud.xxx, and these will be at an "at cost" open book.

I am very excited about what we can all achieve with Cloud.xxx. I am looking forward to the beta launch in a few weeks for a handful of companies, and then for the general release of Cloud.xxx later in the year.

Man I just read what the product is.
That is such a bold undertaking.

I tried to make a automated subbmitter years ago and well it was way over our head to keep up with the ever changing tubes .

Hey KillerK, actually, thats what made YouPorn different to other tubes. We launched on 26th August 2006 and very quickly realised that our business model was not sustainable for the industry. Hence the launch of the content partner program in March 2007, and the onslaught of us buying $m's of licensed content to edit into clips to give away for free. We actually stopped accepting user uploads and this was testament to the single figure DMCA notices we received per month.

The route we chose to go with YouPorn was very detrimental to our business, but extremely important for us. We were very happy with what we had created. We became a huge window, in effect, a huge shopping mall for the content producers to advertise their products directly to our 370m monthly users, without having someone in the parking lot handing out your full scenes. You just need to look at the continued growth our competitors had, and look to the reasons why this was so, and still is today. By owning a tube, we were never going to be popular with everyone, but we like to think that due to our business model, with the content producers in mind, we were the good guys from effectively a bad bunch.
