.dating

Anyone thinks this TLD will be popular??

Rochard 06-11-2014 10:31 AM

It was huge for the dating industry for sure...

Harmon 06-11-2014 10:31 AM

just bought dating.dating

Trying to reach the stuttering demographic

datingfactory.xxx 06-11-2014 10:42 AM

Ok, not sure if Harmon is joking here :)
I went for affiliate.dating, privatelabel.dating, whitelabel.dating and some other really good keyword domains like MILFs.dating, nudist.dating, naturist.dating, sport.dating and sugarbaby.dating....

Just registered: freesex.dating, face.dating, male.dating, private.dating and some local names.

carpocratian 06-11-2014 04:02 PM

I registered several.

Which domain registrar did y'all use?

BlackCrayon 06-11-2014 04:25 PM

don't forget about the endless future extensions... .date,.dates.match or whateever other money grabs they come up with.

Relentless 06-11-2014 04:49 PM

The main problem is all the potential overlap in the future. .Date, .Dates, .Personals, .Dating, .Escort, .Flirt, .Hookup, .Match, .Mate, .Mates, etc... along with so many existing dating sites on other TLDs.

It's not like .support which really has no potential overlap in the future from other TLDs.

The launch of all these new TLDs is like a tulip craze and the epitome of a bubble. Investors are going to take a bath in these worthless domains.

The ones I bought are going to be used for actual mainstream dating sites. I sure wouldn't buy them as an "investment."

Yes but its not much to do about this. I will still try to get keyword domains. Hope they will have at least some value or be easy to brand in the future.

the biggest problem i have with all these new domains is the games the registries are playing. holding back tens of thousands of domains per release, the insane premium renewal pricing (i don't want to pay 1k a year to renew a domain) the "EAP" pricing (want it before anyone else? pay $12k...no thanks) and the list goes on and on. this was all done under the guise of the internet needing more domain names so why were the registries allowed to be so greedy and keep the best to themselves?

This x100,000 :2 cents:

It's all a big money making scam.
