Have Any GFYers Smashed Up A Laptop In Anger?

A nice fully functioning laptop, not a broken one, tell us too about anything else you smashed up in a rage :thumbsup

edgeprod 06-10-2014 10:41 AM

I bet lots of people on GFY have done that -- poor impulse control, depression, anger issues, etc. abound here, sadly.

dyna mo 06-10-2014 10:41 AM

only a few guitars

Nomarh 06-10-2014 10:42 AM

not the entire computer just the screen been a few years

Roald 06-10-2014 10:43 AM

2 keyboards and a mouse, not too bad I would say ;)))

CurrentlySober 06-10-2014 10:50 AM

Actually, I did that to the very first computer I ever owned... Dunno if it were win 95 or the one below it, but I realised I spent more time messing about with it, than actually using it, so I eventually lost it, and kicked the fuck out of it...

Sparks went everywhere, and nearly started a fire - Which lead me to think of home insurance...

So I spoke to the place I got it from (The PC) and I had a pal there...

He put EVERY bit of broken kit tat came in to the shop, in a pie, and called it 'Bills Computer'...

When the insurance guy eventually arrived at the shop, to see my PC that had 'Fallen Down Te Stairs?'...

There were so many top end parts, that you couldn't have actually fitted it all in one PC !!!

So for £40 - The amount I had to pay out of my own pocket to make the claim - I ended up with a PC that did everything possible, and the rest was history!

Temper can be a good thing !

Rochard 06-10-2014 10:54 AM

I don't have anger management issues. Or a temper. So no, I never have.

Ross 06-10-2014 11:06 AM

One time I was dealing with 11 hours of hosting issues and I put my foot thru the wall in my home office. It was pretty stupid but I was furious and it was right there, was pretty embarrassing getting someone in to fix it tho and having him ask what happened to it.

slammed the screen down hard and cracked that on a laptop. but I did kick the shit out of a brand new printer that refused to recognise that the ink cartridges were in it.

I work too hard for my stuff to go around smashing it up like an undisciplined child.

sandman! 06-10-2014 01:12 PM

nope.....

Scott McD 06-10-2014 01:30 PM

I have smashed multiple control pads (joypads) for various games consoles over the years.

Damn you COD and Fifa...

SilentKnight 06-10-2014 01:55 PM

Many years ago I put a pickaxe through a $1000 Luxman K-112 cassette deck.

It was just a year old. It'd been in the repair shop 4x.

Last piece of Luxman/Alpine audio I ever bought.

Jel 06-10-2014 02:02 PM

smashing up shit since I was about 12, for the exact reasons edgeprod gave. Haven't smashed anything up for the last 3 years that I've worked on those issues.

First computer to get it was a zx spectrum 48 lol. Add in doors, furniture, bicycles, cars, people, tv sets, assorted electrical items, and other bits and bobs. I do look back now and think 'w...t...f', and am obviously pleased I don't react like that any more.

thegreatestporn 06-10-2014 02:05 PM

I took my headphones off and started jumping on them. They still work, just lots of duct tape.

scuba steve 06-10-2014 02:06 PM

think about smashing/throwing my phone into a wall or off my balcony a bunch...

RyuLion 06-10-2014 02:12 PM

Nope never. that's a stupid thing to do destroy what you love and what makes you $$$..

mineistaken 06-10-2014 02:18 PM

I do not get that angry, I did not smash any single thing in my life. Most what I did - punched PC keyboard, nothing happened to it :)
