HELP with either my MacBook or browser settings?

I am not sure what's up here.

So,when i try to upload files such as Pages and TEXT .TXT documents from a web browser program i see the following.

This is what i see when from my Gmail account i tried to upload a TXT file

This is a Pages file:

Obviously I am not able to attach or upload the files.

XLS, WORD Doc, RFT,PDF are OK

If try to do the same from my local mail client such as Outlook or Apple Mail I have no problems.

Any idea?

You might try right click > compress (which makes a zip file containing your file).... and try uploading the zip file instead of the file itself.

That joke from the 90s hasn't been funny since about that time.

Yea, that's weird. I right-clicked on a .pages file and clicked "Show Package Contents" and the same files came up as what you're seeing. So it looks like when you click on a file, it's automatically showing you the package contents. Maybe look around for a way to turn that off? But first, you may want to do Repair Disk Permissions and see if that helps. Sometimes when my computer has a lil' hickup or something is acting weird, I'll Repair Disk Permissions and that will fix it. If you haven't done it in a while, or ever...you might want to do that and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, I'd look around for a way to turn off the "Show Package Contents" when you click on a file. Good luck....
