It's been ready to blow for thousands of years. It'll probably be ready to blow long after we've wiped ourselves off the planet by other means.

Consider how long we've been around and do the math on the odds. It's a long shot.

But, if you were into trends, you could say the eruption time is cut roughly in half for each subsequent eruption -- so it should have blown about 300,000 years ago, which means we're overdue by 300, 000 years.

Seriously, this is the one even i worry about. Mostly because it will wipe out a decent sized region. Throw most of the world into a winter which could last a few years to a decade.

Scarier than that though is the havoc it will cause in certain industries. Nuclear especially. During a nuclear winter so to speak, that is the only time we should be reliant on nuclear power. However i suspect many plants go offline for awhile or worse.

No, I have the "same line of thinking as whomever the fuck you guys are babbling about (again). I used my own brain, what I've watched "scientists" proclaim in my lifetime, and what history (over milions of years) shows with climate change.

I also KNOW that if this was the year 1970...you would be agreeing with the "thousands of scientists (lol) who said that if Pres. Nixon didn't take immediate action that the entire East Coast of the U.S. would be underwater by the year 2000.

And then those exact same "thousands of scientists" proclaimed in 1977 (just seven years later) that an ICE AGE was coming instead! And YOU would be acting superior and calling me a "denier" and rambling about "science".

I prefer to use common sense, and my understanding of who PAYS all these scientists. They all work for funding and grant money and come to whatever conclusions they are told to.

Whether they are oil company scientists or green energy scientists.

The East Coast didn't even go one inch "underwater" by 2000, and there was no Ice Age in 1977.
