I heard that if the team was sold after he died (he's got cancer), that capital gains would only have to be paid on the profit over the new assessed amount at the time transfer. So now he's going to have to pay capital taxes on $2 billion, but if the team was sold after he died it would probably be assessed at ~$1b to 1.5b so the estate would save hundreds of millions.

What troubles me about all of this is that it's about something said in the privacy of his own home with a very reasonable expectation of privacy. He's being called a racist yet didn't say anything racist (not that it's relevant what he said in private and at home). There is not a single person here of any race that doesn't say insane, offensive shit in private (particularly to friends) which when recorded out of context and aired to the world would sound horrible. For that, you should have a witch hint and people wanting your life destroyed? That is idiocy at its best.

He was accused of making "racist remarks". The fact is that he didn't. Regardless, the whole basis of his accusers are that he's racist and they force him to sell the team for being racist... hence, they themselves made "racism pay" by their own standards and definition.

"racism" used to have a definition and meaning. It used to mean the belief that a race of people are inferior to another (physically, intelligence, ability etc) due solely to their race.

Today it just means "i'm black and i don't like what you're saying, so shut up"

30 years ago, you almost never heard someone call another "racist" as it had a very severe and clear meaning.

Saying in private, "don't bring African Americans to the game" isn't racist. Certainly not so when its shown 100% out of context. Saying "don't bring African Americans to the game because they aren't smart enough to find their seat because they are black" is racist.
