Artificial Intelligence is already a reality

They call it Skynet (LMAO)

It recognized over 100,000 random dog faces, they say it's still in its baby stage.

read the book "the Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect". It's about a computer that becomes so smart it learns to bend physics and then becomes a god.

Of course AI's been here for a while, but this is not like the average Apple's vacuum cleaner.

This 'baby' is "...the first fully Scalable Deep Neural Network based (Primitive) Intelligence System"

one day they will attack humans!

Just have a strong stomach. I won't go into detail, but there's some pretty graphic stuff in the first half.

its false to assume that the computers would wipe us out...we have different needs...they need energy and this is all they need...they do not need warmth, water, food ect...we have an irrational fear of AI...we have nothing they want...to them we would be stupid meaty creatures that are obsessed with carbo hydrates and water molecules...something the machines do not care about...

they do not need us as labor or anything because we are slow lazy stupid workers compared to what they can build....

nor could we build anything to their exact specs...

most probably the AI would evolve to some energy form and leave the earth to find intelligent life LOL

And the machines will turn on and destroy each other, the weakest of them will spend their time threatening and hurling insults at each other on their own version of GFY.

Fascinating to contemplate the possibilities but impossible to predict because our own intelligence is limited.

Watch a movie "animatrix". It's a series of animated movies which explains "background story" of matrix movies, meaning why machines revolted in a first place, and i can tell their scenario is quite good and i think something like that could happen, tho could take several hundred or thousand years.

so humans control of energy & rare earth metals & the fact we need them & compete for them is irrelevent? or you just assume the first AI will be strapped with rockets & will just benevolently leave the earth to find their own?

if i recall trucks dont work well in 30 below zero. planes dont fly in air over 140 degrees or so. computers need constant cooling in order to keep functioning. So much for not needing any climate controls.

& do humans treat well other animals that are "stupid meaty creatures?" i retort...industrial food.

someday robots will think of us like we thought of the buffalo. A fun target to shoot at while rolling by.

:2 cents:

Watch the Sci-fi film - Her (2013)

Honestly one of the best Sci-fi films I've seen in a very long time, it's about AI reaching singularity and what happens at the end of the film is the most likely scenario to happen when AI surpasses our own intelligence.

This looks more like basic classification than an attempt at sentient AI. Still, it's a start.

I remember seeing a research project where you define the object in an initial one or two frames, and from there on the program is able to track and "learn" changes as the object moves and changes. So it would be able to learn all angles of (say) a car if you tell it to follow the blue thing from frame #1 as the camera walks around.

stopitbrrruce 05-30-2014 07:24 AM

AI has been real ever since 10 years ago when talked to a IM sexchatbot for 20 minutes before I realized it wasn't a human.

Judgement day is coming. If you see a young-looking Arnold Schwarzenburger walking naked in a alleyway, RUN.

If Microsoft build it will find it can't read from it own memory disk, try in DOS, blue screen and die in a space of weeks.
