Yeah - the problem isn't the nature of the punishment, it's that those guys rarely get punished at all. Just some ample prison time would be a refreshing change.

Iran isn't a model to follow on any of this crap, the Ayatollah issued a death sentence against author Salman Rushdie for an irreverent portrayal of Mohammed in one of his (relatively harmless) novels for chrissakes. They are insane.
