Good mainstream niche would be marketing dash cams for the US. I think it could catch on.

Country with the highest percentage of vehicles with a dashcam. There's idiots everywhere but most of them aren't being filmed.

Course not. The best proof is an witness like it is in any other country. But when you have a dashacam, you just don't care about anything because it's your personal witness which is always with you. I really don't understand why dashcams are not that popular in other countries. How about navigators, radar detectors and other electronic devices? The people here just love all those hi-tech gadgets.

How would a person be better witness than a (clear) video footage? It's insirance thing all right.

Here in Asia we should have 360 degree "dash"cams, it's not always front where they come from...

Precisely, I ve just installed mine few days ago, I was using tablet but recording angle was not good enough (cool stuff,it is recording your speed and location together with video). When I buy new car I will use some cam that is covering as many angles as possible.

There were many situation when I wanted to have cam and record. Radar detectors are not legal here.

well, probably, you know better here, this is what i've personally found http://www.wired.com/2013/02/russian-dash-cams/

"The sheer size of the country, combined with lax ? and often corrupt ? law enforcement, and a legal system that rarely favors first-hand accounts of traffic collisions has made dash cams all but a requirement for motorists.

?You can get into your car without your pants on, but never get into a car without a dash cam,? Aleksei Dozorov, a motorists? rights activist in Russia"

Still not true. The dashcams are very popular here but not as popular as navigators. So I'd say you can get into your car without your pants on, but never get into a car without a navigator. At least in Moscow. Personally I know only two persons who use dashcams: my wife and her brother.

You are a clever boy. Course in some countries it's not as corrupt as in Russia. However, how exactly dashcams can help one to fight corruption? Please tell me, professor.

editeur 05-30-2014 11:08 PM

There are so many dashcams here because there's a lot of people who will deny their guilt in a crash and in many cases you can do nothing as it will be your word vs his word. Another reason is to catch plates of those fags who do hit and run. And yet another is to have an objective picture of what's happened - sometimes details are the king. Insurance fraud is not that widespread as many think, but in case when a car overtakes you and suddenly stops only dashcam could show your was set up as by default rear car is perpetrator of the accident.

Police corruption has nothing, or almost nothing to do with cams as it is in your own interest to pay the bribe - official fine would be 2 times more. That's why govt recently started to install cams in police cars - to check what they do.

The more expensive the car the less chances it will have an dashcam. It's B and C classes who have dashcams the most. I for one don't have it.

Exactly. This is I was tried to hint when commented Kolargol's post above. If people stop give bribes to the police, there will be no corruption at all. The problem is that people here are interested in police corruption, because it's always better to pay 2 times less into the officer's pocket to avoid an official fine.

Personally I do not pay bribes. That's my principle. However almost all my friends do it :2 cents:
