Hosting - who can match or beat this deal?

I'm looking for the best deals for something like this:

Supermicro blade -8 cores
16gb ram
2x2tb SATA Hard Drives, RAID 1
35 Megabit

Hey hosts, what prices can you hookup? Please post here your best deals for something same or similar to this.

Thanks.

sandman! 05-17-2014 09:42 AM

does it have to be a blade ?

dont understand why you would be asking specifically for a blade.

cybermike 05-17-2014 10:31 AM

facialfreak 05-17-2014 10:34 AM

sandman! 05-17-2014 11:12 PM

why are you looking to move ?

save $$ ? better support ?

jscott 05-18-2014 03:30 AM

Well, i have like 100 sites, my current host cannot keep my sites online. For example yesterday was about 7 downtimes, but for the past 6 months with them there has been probably 40 downtimes, maybe more, probably more. Some for hours, some for just minutes.

Either way, lately I stay up all night, refreshing my sites, to make sure they stay online. I'd estimate that 30-40% of my traffic is gone from all the downtimes. (impossible to build sites up when your host cannot keep your sites online)

My current host has great support, but they just cannot keep my sites online, so I have decided to shop around for other deals elsewhere, still uncertain if i'll move or not. Just looking around tho

And there should be no question that you are moving for sure. Can't run a business with downtime like that. Should have been long gone months ago.

I can recommend trying Reflected/Swiftwill and also Natnet.

Good luck.

Do you really need 2TB drive space? A single SSD drive will be faster and cheaper (but smaller) - can be done. How about this deal, custom built for you in 48 hours at XenLayer.com:

Dual Xeon 5520
- CPU: Dual Xeon 5520 2.27 GHz
- Core: 2 CPUs - 8 Cores, 16 Threads
- Memory: 16 GB DDR3
- Hard Disk: 500 GB SATA x2 (RAID)
- IP Addresses: 5 (IPv4) + IPv6
- Bandwidth: 10 TB, 1Gbit port
$ 109 p/m

This plan is listed on our website with 8GB DDR3 RAM, I will double it for you for free if you hit me up or drop me a message.

If you want a 120GB SSD instead of the 2x 500GB drives in RAID1 - we'll do it for an additional $20 p/m. If you want a 100Mbit port uncapped/unmetered, I'll do it for $75 p/m.

Our services are fully managed, we also offer a choice of different control panels. Happy to set you up, hit me up!

Hi,

got some questions..

- Where is your company/datacenter located? USA / EU?
- How much for the same (or lower) HW with unmetered bw capped at 10 Mbps?
- you take Paxum?
- Control Panel included in the price?

thx

The majority of our servers are housed in the HostNOC facility in Scranton PA. We accept PayPal only. Capped can be done, but are you sure? 10 Mbit cannot push more than 3 TB per month even if it is maxed out 24/7. You get 3x the datatransfer with 100x higher burst speed with us by default.

Virtualmin is installed by default as it does not interfere with regular CentOS (or Debian, whichever you prefer) operations and is highly customizable. DirectAdmin and ISPConfig3 are available if you prefer, all these control panels are free. cPanel/WHM is an additional $39.95 per month. I recommend Virtualmin, we are active contributors and have our own Webmin & Virtualmin theme.

The service is managed which means we will work with you to install whatever you need, within reason. Take Virtualmin w/ CentOS 6.5 and we will take care of the rest for you.

Edit:

If you want, we can install OpenVZ kernel w/ OVZ Web Panel and virtualize the machine for you. Split it up into multiple containers and create a private cloud where you can deploy/destroy/resize your own VPS servers in an easy and customer friendly way. Free of charge, just choose it during checkout.

You might think into hiring third party systemadmin which will resolve that downtime issue.

jscott 05-24-2014 08:23 PM

Thanks everyone, i'll be going thru contacting some of you that replied soon. :)

I can get you this same thing (8 x 2.4 Ghz cores, 16 GB RAM, 2 x 2000 GB HDDs Raid) but 65 Mbit for $114 per month. Data center based in Germany.
- $33 per month for extra 32 IP adresses (optional)
- $99 per month for 1GBit port (optional)

If you pay 6 months in advance, you geti it for $668, instead of $684. That's $16 discount. Hit me up, if u want to get this. Thanks!
