Big call, so many great 80's songs out there...

Always been a big Aldo Nova fan over the years...several of his abums.

Biggest song/video in the 90s?

Oh yeah, I loved this song... I had the 12 inch single of it and would crank it LOUD.

Uber talented, played every intstrument on that song in fact plus did all the singing and mixing, but....

I can still think of about half a dozen songs I'd put ahead of that for top tune of the 80's.

3. the song is fantastic and has all the iconic 80s sounds- guitar, synth, all that!

80s won't be beat. not ever. not even by the 2080's.

Aldo and Paola (his fiancée) are friends of mine ...

Aldo used to live literally 2 blocks from me ... but now lives on the island (Montréal).

To this day we tease him about his leopard print body suit!

He is currently working on a new album that is unlike any current genre of music ... I'm still not sure what I personally think of it, but it is "fresh" ...

this always reminds me of the 80s..

I remember buyin' the cassette versions of Aldo Nova: Subject and Twitch when they came out. Both had a few tracks I really liked...but I never seemed to hear anything from them on the radio at the time.

Fantasy is/was forever in power rotation on all the classic rock stations.

I heard "I Melt For You" the other day....that would be my choice.
Can't get that fucking song outta my head....LOL

that song (and the vid is good too) is a serious contender. it's a bit too sappy/cliched for me to pick it as THE quintessential 1980s song though, as silly as that is, but it's fun to explore. It's played a lot still, more prolly now than then! :1orglaugh
