these damn ratios

last month had 1:250 with one of my sponsors...this month I'm at 0:2700 right now, with the same traffic quality, same banners & galleries....how is this possible?

More people doing the same thing (competition!). Signups are spread across multiple people now.

ARS? heheheh that's why I moved my traffic elsewhere :)

Another thing. Don't let haters get you down--ratios of 1:100 to 1:200 are doable and are being done right now. You just need to do the following:

1) use the right sponsor for the right niche [and no, if a sponsor is really good and STABLE ratio provider--MOST smart webmasters will NOT tell you who these sponsors are. Nothing fucks up ratios more than overexposure]

2) study the fuck out of your stats/server logs. you will notice a pattern. the people who buy consistently fit a certain profile....find that profile, study it, pimp it hard....and yeah, 1:100 or less is doable.

3) Most sponsors' marketing materials suck. Use your own that is tailor fit to your traffic.

:2 cents:

If it were spread across differing niches it would be okay. The PROBLEM is when you have x traffic coming for x niche which other webmasters share...now if you all start pushing the same sponsor then conversions drop. There's ways to fix this but...left neglected this may drop your income.

I think the answer to this is small sample size (i.e. only 250 hits and one fluke signup), or maybe the sponsor is shaving more this month. For some reason they think changing the shaving ratio every month hides what they are doing.

I am one of the few smart webmasters that does tell you who these are (because of the miniscule referral income I may get).

Details are in my sig.
