Anyone Into RC Submarines?..

I am hoping to get back into angling and I was hoping to get an RC submarine with a live feed camera so I can check out the local reservoir for good spots...

I have seen a couple but they in at over $5K - Way more than I want to spend.....

Also they all seem to be hard wired - I understand that because you cant get a signal under water, but I would have thought the would be a way to have a buoyant antennae that floats above the sub...

Anyone into that sort of thing? - It's going to be a few months before I can get it, but I would like to get some ideas.....

Drop a waterproof video camera from the back of the fishing boat.

There might be a way to adapt something like that though - Thanks.....

How about attaching a GoPro to the underside of an RC boat?

gopros totally suck in low light situations

You're going to want the thing tethered unless you're prepared to pay divers to retrieve it for you if it fails underwater.

You've got to be kidding me.... You want to use a submarine to check out a spot for fishing?

Yeah - I love the idea of being able to see weed beds and other underwater features that will hold fish...

If you are going to do it, do it properly.....

When I was a kid I used to fish off the local pier - All the other kids had some string and a worm, I had depth sounders and state of the art kevlar fishing rods...

Luckily I hit six foot at the age of 12/13 - Otherwise I would have been beaten up A LOT.....

Vendzilla has piloted a bunch of them. A few while he was on his trip to China I believe.

Get a GoPro and mount it to a pole. You can buy them set up for this purpose.

LOL, there is a reason submarines don't have windows, you can't see anything unless you use a shit load of lights.
