Can anyone suggest some places to go in the LA area?
I recently picked up a place in Stevenson Ranch and have been here about a month fixing the place up. I'm going nuts with boredom and was wondering if I could get some suggestions of good places to go and things to do here. I found a little bikini bar called Sunny's that is pretty decent except for the low amount of girls working. any help would be appreciated :)

You talking strip clubs or just general stuff? There's always Venice so you can laugh at the hippies and catch a few sidewalk acts, sometimes there's something interesting. Some good food around that area too. 3rd street in Santa Monica has the same type of thing but more upscale shopping etc. The Getty is cool too. If you haven't been, there's always the Hollywood walk of fame so you can see how truly trashy it is and not how its shown on tv. They recently passed a law banning people from sidewalk sales bombarding you every 10 feet. If you like bands and venues, hit sunset.

Edit: defiantly plan on checking out the Getty museum. |
Hey Ed, can we shoot some content at your place? $50/hr :thumbsup

Don't really need the $$$ but we can discuss you shooting here. |
Santa Clarita is boring as fuck, I'm glad I moved away from there. Did you just move to CA?

If you like live music, check out the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood - The Roxy Theatre, The Viper Room, The Whisky a GoGo and The Rainbow. For theme parks, there's Universal Studios and Disneyland. |
You could go to LAX and get the fuck out of there.

I can tell you some places where not go and that's freeway. AVOID!!!

Main Street in Venice. The upscale part of it. It's a stroll kind of place. Lots of babes. There is a bikini bar there features some hot Asian girls...
The REEL Inn out in Malibu. Can probably find a back way to your place out in SC. Nice beach there, when it doesn't smell like petroleum or shit. Surfers go there. |

Stay away from Universal Studios it's a waste of $80. Better go to six flags if you like theme parks. |

Wish this house was finished so I had more time... |
So how did you find a house to buy in Stevenson Ranch if you live in KY? Must have been quite a deal for you to travel halfway across the country to fix it up.

You've got Six Flags for the adrenaline rush right next to you. If you're down for some Thai food, I love Mom Can Cook Thai Kitchen, which is pretty close to you. For night life, you're better off making the drive to Hollywood. Other than that, there's a plethora of hookah bars in the San Fernando Valley.

Just got back home from a weekend trip in LA. Go surfing in the mornings, thats what I did.

Go to West Hollywood. Most dudes are gay or close to it so you are much more likely to be able to meet a hot babe. And yes there are lots of babes in West Hollywood.

a few nice gas stations in Santa Clarita...

You're not far from a lot of places.
Depends on what you want to do, like Museums? I would go to the Ronald Reagan Museum in Simi, they have a bunch of baseball stuff there right now, there are some pretty cools ones all over LA. The tittie bars in the valley suck unless you know people. If you have a Harley, you can join me on most any weekend. We like to go up the coast to wine country. Santa Barbara and Carpinteria. You can go to Hollyweird. Maybe drive over to the Sage Brush Cantina for Sunday Brunch. Last weekend, went to a car show in Simi and a motorcycle charity thing for the Marines MC. Heading out to Malibu on the weekend to the Rock Store and Neptune's net is always fun. |

Since you're looking for museums too, check out the museum of jurassic technology in culver city, pretty sweet place. The beach is always nice. hike up griffith park. LA zoo. Old LA zoo. Hit up the boiling crab. Tito's tacos. Stevenson Ranch isn't too far from these locations ;)
But then again you have six flags and a few lakes right there (pyramid, castaic) :P |

You would get a big thrill carving Mulholland drive around dead mans curve. Then there is Grimes canyon, one highway that will take you from close to your place all the way to the beach in Malibu. Look up Highway 23, there are some serious curves there. Sundays the bikers get together at the Sagebrush a lot, Video Secrets is right down the road. No patches are allowed, food is awesome. I have a 99 Road King Classic, it's getting some upgrades this month, like a new cam kit and getting rid of the timing chain, all gears. That will make my 88 run a lot better LA is great for bikers because you can ride all year long, barely rained last year. I still rode!! Get your bike and hit me up for a weekend ride, I'm always getting out with one of the clubs or just friends and just a weekend with the ole lady! |
what's that big rendevouz/destination for motorcyclists in stevenson ranch area? We hit it a couple times but can't recollect entirely, good bbq joint there but it had a lot of things to do at the place.

SR is pretty far out of L.A., right? You must be 30 minutes from the valley, about 45-50 min from downtown? I can give you some ideas, but do you care where they are, or do you just want places in your general area?
I have some cool things I could name all over the L.A. area, but some of them are in Orange county for example, which for you could be a 1.5 hour drive....and that with NO traffic, lol. |
