Saw the saddest thing today...
 

A young girl...10-12 years of age - drunk/drugged out of her mind attempting to commit suicide by jumping in front of vehicles.

Luckily a good samaritan woman stopped her car and got the girl on to a sidewalk and stayed with her while I called police.

There was a lot more to the story...but that was the basic scenario earlier this afternoon.

Just a really, really bad situation. I hope the poor girl gets some much-needed help. She had a stash of 4-5 prescription pill bottles in her little purse that the woman was able to take away from her at the scene.

As a father of two daughters, and brother to a sister who fatally overdosed on prescrip pills...it's a tough thing to witness and directly deal with firsthand.

99% chance her parents are the ones who need help.

Amazing to think that life can be that bad at 12. All that I knew at that age was treehouses, crisps, friends and long summer days.

Quite true.
