Do you like the highlighted threads?

Right now highlighting is turned on for members who start a thread that have more than 10k posts.

Like it? Other ideas or suggestions? Colors?

Grapesoda 05-08-2014 04:07 AM

not so much

myjah 05-08-2014 04:07 AM

I'm thinking it would look better to just highlight their username in green instead of the entire thread.

Captain Kawaii 05-08-2014 04:07 AM

I think it would be cool if it were for very active or new threads. I like the color. Vegas Cluuuuuuuuub color. :thumbsup

seeandsee 05-08-2014 04:09 AM

It's interesting, but i would use softer collors

wizzart 05-08-2014 04:09 AM

I must admit that I don't like this update.

MrDeiz 05-08-2014 04:10 AM

irritates + there will be a bunch of idiots who's going to get 10k overnight
and btw those who still do business here are far from 10k

stonehammer 05-08-2014 04:11 AM

im fine if its for only 1 or 2 threads,.....

MrDeiz 05-08-2014 04:13 AM

i'd appreciate more banning some worthless idiots with 100% non-related posts.

We're working on this to be able to highlight the most active - I also think that is useful.

Please keep it simple! :error

oppoten 05-08-2014 04:20 AM

No, it's too bright and it distracts from the thread titles.

At first I thought there was something wrong, and I kept refreshing hoping it would go away!

InfoGuy 05-08-2014 04:23 AM

Threads started by green nicks aren't necessarily more important or interesting than by orange nicks, so no.

Rather than highlight, I'd rather gray out recently bumped old threads, let's say anything started more than 6 months ago.

stoka 05-08-2014 04:24 AM

looks like shit

Do you have eyes? Do you see what it looks like? You cant read the text with that shitty green backgroundcolor.

If you're going to use this feature, use a dark grey color.

its too much going on tbh .... maybe just limit it to active threads and so forth...

make mine rainbow

MaDalton 05-08-2014 04:26 AM

i went to the content market first and thought it's a nice touch to highlight the established, trustworthy producers...

now i am a bit disappointed that it's only the postcount - lol

but actually some kind of reputation system would not be bad

This too I like. It can be applied to specific forums such as the content market place?

Nice to get some useful feedback and suggestions - everyone keep 'em coming.

Should I keep changing the highlight to different irritating colors to encourage this? :winkwink:

CyberHustler 05-08-2014 04:38 AM

I like it, green is always good my nigga

DamianJ 05-08-2014 04:41 AM

I think it's nice you let the interns play, but turn it off now.

L-Pink 05-08-2014 04:43 AM

I think only mine should be highlighted. Kind of like a public service.

Jel 05-08-2014 04:45 AM

it's truly awful, both visually, and as an idea, imo.

Klen 05-08-2014 04:55 AM

I think only thread starter field should be highlighted.

DamianJ 05-08-2014 04:57 AM

I just have no idea what the POINT is?

What problem are you trying to solve?

I can see the meeting now...

"This board is turning into even worse dog shit that it used to be. What shall we do?"

"I know, we won't ban any of the rejoined banned people using fake nicks, because they get mad page views and that means we can sell more ads, so what we'll do is pointlessly highlight half the threads on a page!"

"Genius! How about social. People talk about social media right? Should we do some of that?"

"Damn right we should, but forget all that shit about using social for engagement, like everyone good at it says, let's just use it to spam. We can, um, post on Facebook about the fake nicks' posts and how about this, we could TWEET the fake nicks' posts too. Fuck engagement, let's just spam the fuck out of everywhere!"

"Excellent plan!"

myjah 05-08-2014 04:59 AM

While I think it's a good idea to highlight our 10k+ members, this particular method is just too busy. For that, better to just highlight the nick IMO.

Seeing what we can do to highlight most active threads.

Also discussing a Badge/Reward system.

Thanks to everyone for replying here - all feedback is helpful

Rarely. Don't you ever get tired of constantly complaining rather than just ignoring me?

Penny24Seven 05-08-2014 05:11 AM

wow so much input on something you almost do not see LOL.
If this ruins anyones day then you had a pretty good fucking day haha.
relax it will be ok. Change some shit up, get people talking about GFY, Next thing you know the board will move like before.
Ok I got carried away a little there

georgeyw 05-08-2014 05:12 AM

Honestly, it is just annoying.

I would guess that most if not all users her look at the thread title and the started before reading a thread and then click through anyway.

In all fairness, I had half the board highlighted and was using psychedelic colors.

Now only Moderator posts are highlighted :)

Violetta 05-08-2014 05:28 AM

i would like if the text of the most popular thread is red everyday

MetaformX 05-08-2014 05:30 AM

useless.

Maqua 05-08-2014 05:49 AM

I think the highlighted thread is a good idea, but implemented a bit differently, I'm thinking if we had a "highlight this thread" button right beside the "new thread" and "post reply" buttons, this way if there is a hot thread going on and lets say 10 members click on the "highlight this thread" it gets highlighted which gives us a heads up that this thread is a good read :thumbsup

Manfap 05-08-2014 06:14 AM

No.
Base it on posts of quality, not quantity.

bean-aid 05-08-2014 06:15 AM

Looks like my screen has shmegma on it... almost got the windex to clean it off.

American Psycho 05-08-2014 06:37 AM

SomeCreep 05-08-2014 08:01 AM

I saw a thread highlighted in red and it scared me. :(

Usernames with 25k posts or more should be able to put a hypertext link below their username, like "Bad dog" and "Juicylinks" have.
