KAZAA?why is it here and why is there so many problems?
 

well....does anyone know why kazza has so many ass sucking leech companies and viruses in it if its only "supposed" to help share files(i mean come on if your going to share files dont be an ass master and send viruses....)?

I love kazzaa..... Never had any problems or viruses getting shit...

Gotta keep the noise to content ratio up for profit. I know lots of the music companies now load up bad or snipped tracks to Kazza to increase the chance of downloading a bad track. Sometimes it's easier just buying the CD.

it's like some bad adult sites. you go, you get bombared with 20 pops, 3 dialers, and a pleasant surprise if you're lucky.

Fuck Kazza. You load your computer with spy ware (GAIN) that tracks your on line activity and pops up ads relating to web sites you visit. If you must use it, go for the lite version, as it is spy ware free.

Kazza lite? It downloads more spyware and more marketing programs on your computer than any other version. All done nicely in the background so you never notice.

Nope ... pretty sure Kazza lite is just as bad if not worse. Very clever program delivery engine in the lite version.

Not sure. I never used it, but have had to repair many computers which did, and some of the stuff I found running in the background would make a porn dialer author blush.

It must use those scary invisible pop up windows too. Those are the worst:winkwink:

hrm. haven't had near as many problems with kazaa lite since i switched, but i don't really use it all that much. i try and avoid kazaa pretty much anymore.


the only thing that is pissing me off is that IE is being a total bitch lately. it did this once before. crappy microsoft products. especially the little save bug thing. try and save an image, and it saves EVERYTHING as .bmp's. argh!

I could be wrong (and probably am since I don't use the thing), but I have had to clean up the mess left by Kazza on machines which were still under service contract.

Might be a few different versions of Kazza lite, if you all swear by it.

kazaa lite has ads .. wish they didn't - like the program, but they have ads. also, it seems the longer i go without upgrading to the newer version (it reminds me every time i open kazaa lite) the searches get shittier ... my imagination probably.

I went to the site, and it detected that I was blocking his popups (about 4-5) .... then instantly redirected me to a page which said something like :

"These adverts pay my costs, and you are using a program to block them, yada yada yada...."

How the fuck did he know I blocking his pops ?

I used to swear by morpheus - never touched kazaa due to the spyware - try www.gnucleus.com - not too bad

KazaaLite isn't from Kazaa. It uses the same program, except all the spyware/adware is removed by a 3rd party:

Kazaa lite does *not* install spyware, adware or whatever on your computer. Or, if it does, it's the kind that is not detected by ad-aware, is not detected by anti-virus progs, does not change anything on your computer and does not serve you with ads or popups. In short, the invisible kind - or rather, the non-existent kind.

If you keep getting viruses you should stop downloading software, or learn to use a virus scanner.

SOme people are downloading K. Lite, running it, then downloading the newer version that pops up when they get to Kazaa's site..

Don't do that.. Just stick with the earlier version..

I have no spyware, ads, or anything else from the earlier lite version.. and no problem with redirections..

J a v a s c r * p t browser detection and redirection. Simple as hell if you know how the browser identifies itself when using a pop-up blocker.

Just imagine - folks are using this and worse to view your porn sites. Not only pop-up blockers, but entire ad blockers that will block any image coming from commonly-named folders like "ads", "advertisements" etc

You lucked out and got Lite in it's infancy. Unfortunately most of the downloads now are in fact infested with more crappy shit that Kazaa. I just had to restore my computer from the shitty MP3 search, toolbars, spyware, and other shit it installed.
