The attacker has pinned down your second friend and is ripping at his face while
you and your other friend escape.

The police arrive just as you and one friend run out of the apartment.
So the cops shoot you dead and shoot your friend too then go inside the apartment
and arrest the attacker as he is ripping off a victims face without firing a shot.

This is enraging. These idiot cops in L.A. are absolute moron quick-triggers. Their answer to everything is shoot to kill everything in their path. There was a team of cops and one guy who was running away and wounded- they didn't even try to subdue him which would've given him the chance to tell them he's a victim and save his own life from these Keystone cops.

Because they were afraid a bad man might hurt them, they fired bullets from their guns at him. He was hit by so many bullets fired from the police mans guns that he fell to the ground. The good guy was even shot by a bullet fired by one of the police men. It turned out that they were both good guys.

How about this? Teens are having a party like everyone of us did when we were in high school. Cop shows up. Girl and friends are pulling out in their car. Cop executes the driver because she either misunderstood his directions or was just being a rebellious teenager. For her crime of rolling past an officer she was executed.

lolz @ those of you thinking this is a typical scenario, only to make sweeping generalizations re: police to support your own distorted view of reality.

It's not typical of "all" police but case after case has proven that certain police departments foster and obviously encourage abuse and deadly force. NYPD used to be one of these but seems they have been tamed quite a bit, however LAPD and as we have seen in the last year or two Albuquerque PD are two that clearly are fostering environments of shoot first count the bad guys later.

IMO both of these departments should be shut down and everyone fired. They should either bring in temporary police or use national guard until a completely new police force can be trained. Both of those PD's have been shown to be incompetent and clearly over abusive in their day to day activities.

I live in the heart of los angeles, I'm the last person to give the benefit of the doubt to the entire dept. and I also am pretty keen on things like this and in albequerque as I have a niece and nephew attending college there and family in other parts of NM

Nevertheless, to take an incident like this and extrapolate out from it as some have done here is backwards. Reading more about this, shows the situation in greater detail and honestly, I've yet to conclude those cops were trigger happy in this incident.

There is always more in the details, but do you think cops in LA & Albuquerque just run into these things more than others? Yes LA is a big ass place so they are more likely to run into problems vs other places but other police departments do run into the same situations tend to be less likely to end with the result of a person being shot by the cops.

It's clearly a case of inadequate training and an environment that fosters a us vs them mentality where "they" are never held accountable for making a bad call.

You start bringing a few of these cops up on involuntarily manslaughter charges for shooting the wrong person and I bet suddenly they get a lot less trigger happy and actually try to resolve the situations with out deadly force.

Look at the difference in a cop shooting vs a civilian shooting.

If you as a legal gun carrying citizen shoot someone in self defense, it is considered a murder and you have to be proven not guilty. If you shoot someone, regardless if it was legit reason or not it is always considered a murder until you can prove you had reason to shoot the person.

If a cop shoots someone, he is put on desk duty until they decide if it was a legit shooting or not. 9 out of 10 times the cop gets off with no discipline. Meanwhile you are faced with countless court costs and potential jail time while awaiting trial.

If a cop shoots someone on duty, it should be looked at as failure to preform his duty of protecting peoples lives and he should have to prove he had reason to shoot that person to a third party oversight group and not "police internal affairs". Instead it's just a environment of, hey buddy you gotta ride the desk for a few weeks til we get yea back in the field, wink wink..pat on the back..

I think LA cops prolly run into crazy situations more than other towns. Especially in hollywood and surrounding it. it's another world. But both depts. have similar training and attitude issues that go all the way to the top.

I would trust a bank robber before I would trust a cop.

How about LAPD officers who are butt hurt because you insulted them in public so they spend thousands of dollars and two weeks of city resources and manpower to follow you around town and try to bust you for anything they can find? Yes this happened to me. I bitched one out for giving me a parking ticket when I clearly just pulled over in an alley and was unloading something. Fucking cunt.

What's amazing is that the cops who do this sort of thing never get sent to prison.

The worst story of them all is the guy who was minding his own business watering his lawn and the cops shot him because they thought the sprayer was a gun. The department found that the officers did nothing wrong.

Cops who make these mistakes should be in prison.
