If anyone is going to be in Austin early May... this is a fun event to check out!

Forbidden Fruit presents: Forbidden Film Fest - Uncensored

May 7-9 2014 at the Vortex Theatre and Butterfly Bar

A new film event from the producers of The Texas Burlesque Festival.

Forbidden Film Fest Uncensored (FFFU) at the Vortex and Butterfly Bar promises a diverse program including post-premiere Directors Q&A with Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens live via webcast, a set of 16mm “banned” films from 1940-1975, and a competition that boasts both local and international selections that span erotica, experimental, animation, comedy and a touch of something a bit more X. The program is accented by a custom curated erotic pre-show designed for FFFU by the Alamo Drafthouse.

We are proud to have on our judges’ panel local documentarian, Bradley Beesley, local filmmaker and assistant professor a the UT school of Film, PJ Raval, local burlesque legend Coco Lectric and Dr. Kimberly TallBear, Professor of Anthropology at UT Austin and author of The Critical Polyamorist. Among others, awards will include Audience Choice and Judge’s Choice.

In addition to film screenings, FFFU is pleased to present “Feminism and Sexuality and Texas”, a speakers panel featuring Mistress Kayla of San Antonio (Pro Dominatrix), Dr. Kim TallBear (Prof, UT Austin), Mia Martina (Bedpost Confessions Producer), and Morgan Collado (Trans 100). This part of the program is free and open to the public. Mistress Kayla also offers a workshop: Festishsim & BDSM.

Tickets will be sold for each part of the program via Brown Paper Tickets.

I might check it out as I'm hanging out in Austin at the moment.

You guys that live in Austin should check out "Top Notch". It's a burger joint a buddy of mine owns. It's a old school place that was actually in the movie "Dazed & Confused" and he shows movies outside, they were showing Dazed & Confused all this week tomorrow night is the last night and May 3rd they are playing Smokey & the Bandit and having a car show..

Yea it's been pretty cool so far, as always Austin and the surrounding area's are my favorite place in Texas. I've been hitting the river quite a bit with my kayak and checked out Fredricksberg last weekend out in wine country. It's a pretty cool little town if you haven't checked it out.

Yeah I go there every few years for vacation :)
