I usually say "What's going on?"

How's it going?
How are you?
How ya doing?
How's it hanging?

"What's happening?"

Wish i didn't use that one, but that's the one that always seems to pop out first...

I started saying, 'Howdy' as a joke a few years ago and now it has stuck with me. ugh.

it took me a while to understand that "How are you" is just a greeting and people are actually not interested how i am...
