Using Pin Sites?
 
I'm looking into using pin sites for some traffic, but I notice that many of them lack the functionality for links or banners to accompany your posts. Is pin traffic mostly reliant on watermark type-ins, or is there something else I'm missing?

they are not used for traffic.
