html5, css3 seems to do everything flash used to do and more.

Not when it comes to banners, these still convert 70% better than regular jpg banners on tube sites for desktop traffic.

This is why XTube, GayTube, JUB, RT still want flash banners!

What is that percentage of the non-flash supported devices and browsers of today? And what is the percentage of the traffic from said devices/browsers? This is likely a large number... and you can make these banners with html5/css3 without even using a jpg... maybe a png or 2 but even that is unnecessary. Just trying to help, in case you missed the memo. :2 cents:

Thank you for the wonderful lessons everyone, so informative, you can all go back to living in your narrow-minded bubble now. I looked at the results more closely for the flash banners compared to a static jpg and the click-through ratios is actually 342% higher this month so far. We use HTML 5 and CSS on all of our new tour/members designs including serving all of our JS/images/videos from a CDN. We are using the latest technology so I am aware of the benefits of only using flash for banners.

I am sure you have heard of XTube, Men.com, or MyVidster. These big players want flash banners, just as much as we do. Do a search on Xtube, you will see flash banners on the footer and side columns.

Webdesigner is shit. HTML5 and CSS aren't going to catch up to what flash could do a decade ago for at least another half decade. And yeah it's still aimed at people on desktops not surfing facebook on their phones but there is a tonne of money still in it and big clients still want the pretties that only flash can provide. HTML5 is still the retarded ugly stepchild. Maybe once flash is down to 20-30% penetration on desktops it'll finally die off. HTML5 sure as fuck better have improved when it does though.
