Suggestions for a fun Vacation Destination Wanted.
 

We can't decide where to go for memorial day, so I was hoping you fellow GFYer's could suggest any fun places to party for a weekend that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

Go to the Black Hills in South Dakota. It sounds lame but believe me, there is a TON of stuff to do there. You could spend a month there and not get to it all.

Before I put my ass on a plane headed to Dakota, could you tell me exactly what there is to do there? Remember--I'm a chic and I consider it "roughing it" if I have to stay in a hotel that doesn't have cable. Seriously though..... I'm interested in hearing more about it.

Don't worry, there are lots of good hotels and lots of cheap ones. Finding a decent place should not be a problem.

For starters, there is Mt. Rushmore. I never wanted to go there until my wife made me go see it and now we go every year. The scenery and wildlife around there are incredible.

Once you do that, I'd suggest a visit to Custer State Park. Pretty much you drive through it and see wildlife like you've probably never seen before. The place is teeming with bison, deer, pronghorn, and stuff like that.

From there, I'd take the drive over to Devil's Tower. The traffic is light and it's an easy drive through some nice country. That one is kind of optional but well worth the visit. If you don't want to do that, just bumming around the Mt. Rushmore area you'll find plenty to do.

I thought the Black Hills would be totally lame but really, you can have a ton of fun there.
